Easily the best morning spot in Long Beach! This whole team has got it down pat and they put love into everything they make; morning buns, croissants, matchas and coffees to boot! We live primarily DC but so look forward to visiting family in LB and taking our kids over to grab a fresh baked anything! Thank you to Ray and his team for creating something warm from the inside out!

Kid-friendliness: Our kids LOVE the morning buns and they have crayons for drawing and are just so kind. Our kids ask to go as soon as they wake up in LB

This place is so lovely! The staff was so friendly and welcoming. I ordered the grilled cheese and it was one of the best grilled cheeses I’ve ever had in my life!! I will be coming back as often as I can!

This place has some of the best coffee I’ve had for a while! I was so glad that their large size is a quad shot because I tend to find that when I ask for 4 shots ppl look at me concerned lol. Coffee was smooth and strong and the honey/lavender syrup was perfect. Not too sweet, just right. I also had one of the most delicious morning buns I’ve ever tried. It was perfection. Unfortunately, the kitchen was closed, but I’m excited to come back and try the rest of their coffee menu and breakfast sandwiches

Blacksmith’s Breads is a true gem and staple of Long Beachs west end. The baked goods, meals, and coffee are all excellent. The staff are all always a pleasure to talk to and Ray is an absolute gentlemen. We came in a bit late and missed out on our favorite treats, Morning Buns. Ray told us to come back in an hr for our own person order! Thank you for making my kids day! Well worth a visit for coffee, breakfast, or any baked goods!

Really nice people, great customer service. But I wish the pastries in the display case were priced so customers (like me) don’t need to be embarrassed when asking and so the cashier didn’t have to look up every item on the register. I thought the coffee was very bitter too, tbh.

I had the tofu breakfast burrito ($12). It was good, not mind blowing, but fairly nutrient dense (lots of veg). Other options included a PB&J ($7) and a quinoa bowl with vegetables ($10 s, $16 l). They also have a variety of non dairy milks for an extra charge. Looked like you could get a protein bar that was vegan. The seitan bahn mi doesn’t seem to exist any more unfortunately!

I didn’t know true joy until the first time I had a Nutella financier. You can’t be sad eating a morning bun- it’s like a sweet decadent croissant hugging itself with layers of cinnamon sugar. A breakfast dish with hot sauce will enliven even the sleepiest weekend warrior. I can go on. Blacksmiths uses simply the best ingredients, made and served by the most genuinely kind humans. Catch them at a farmers market with fresh bread so you can sprinkle happiness throughout your weekly meals

Love this spot! It’s such a vibe and their coffee and bread game is on point! I am picky with my croissants, but Blacksmiths makes them so crispy and airy… 10/10 ?

My go to place in Long Beach for ice coffee and of course a little treat. Their bagels are also sooo good when they have them. It’s a friendly cozy environment and they also have a few gluten free options.
