Blacksmiths Breads was one of the breakfast places on my list.. and it absolutely lived up to the hype. The coffee was spot-on and the croissant was perfectly soft, buttery, and fresh. Everything hit the mark. I’ll definitely be back, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a top-notch, quick breakfast spot. 10/10!”

“Greek Cove Merrick’s lunch special is incredible. Ate the warm pita in the car on the way home! Grilled chicken with a salad and rice. One huge chicken cutlet over a generous portion of delicious rice and a tasty Greek salad- with a grape leaf and feta! I am a very picky eater but this chix was seasoned beautifully, so that if garlic, onion or rosemary(my triple threat) was used, it all blended together perfectly so that even I could not pick out the offensive spice. Amazingly, the yogurt sauce is also tasty( I hate yogurt sauce;usually throw it away). Forgot to tell them not to give it to me, so as not to waste it, but I’m glad I forgot! All of this, and a lot of smiling happy employees, for $12.99 cash. Wowza.”

“I come in randomly. I consider my self a pizza snob. it's better and cheaper then Ginos. My pizza was crispy each time I got it bottom not burned and my pizza was very flavorful. It makes me smile to get pizza here when I was younger this spot was Bel-Air pizza and it was horrible I'm happy a great pizza place is in this spot now the regular slice is awesome And Margarita slice but my favorite is the ala vodka grandma slice thank you for great pizza”

Its as close to Russ&Daughters as you're going to get on LI. Veg cream cheese is fresh and tasty! Most places just through some scarps and scallions.”

“After eating around the area I seemed some dessert and crepes were just across the street. Fresco, don’t be mistaken by the name out front. The owner explained how they’re really known as FRESCO! Speaking of which, he was very nice and endearing, very conversational but still a man on the job so he kept it short. My favorites crepe that came out of my order of three was the hedgehog. The bread matched well with the Nutella used and the coconut and almonds kept the taste interesting enough to keep going even if there was a lot of coconut shaving left over. The peanut butter and jelly definitely has more potential. The peanut butter matches very well with the bread just over all mouth feel, the jelly was the problem for me. I’m not sure if it was the jelly or just the bread not matching well with it but any jelly bite was unsatisfying. It didn’t make as much as a mess as I thought which was great due to a problem I came across while cutting it.
The take out tin trays. I don’t know if anyone else has come across this but the knife provided to me cut right through. I learned to be careful there after but it seemed very flimsy and easily ripped two out of three trays:/
Lastly the ferror. It was delicious for what is was. It had the chocolate and nuts were spread on the inside with powdered sugar and strawberry on top. The bread matched well with it but it was dry only moist by the saliva filling my mouth. I loved it but I just think the inner part of the chocolate ball was overwhelming the moist of the chocolate outside. I would suggest added whip cream on top to have a complementary taste without taking away from what it is.
Overall I’d like to explore this place more because it seems to really have potential. The bread of the crepe is definitely up to my taste and that’s thanks to the cool owner Big T as I called him. Would recommend”

We attended the breakfast with Santa at this location and the options provided for appetizer and meal were not only good but the portion sizes were big. The menu for breakfast with Santa included an appetizer, main dish and unlimited mimosa (for adults only). I think the kids got dessert, but we passed. Great place, I recommend.”

Open late; which is always great, but remember that it's in the West End of Long Beach, which has more locations serving booze into the wee hours than Burning Man, and so things can get dicey down on Beech Street after 10 pm. But the Chopped Cheese is worth it.”

Really impressed with the food and server, Elmer. Started off with the pear salad. Really fresh and the gorgonzola really kicked that salad into a great starter.
My wife had the clams with spaghetti, she really liked it, and I had the gnocchi with chicken cutlet, which really rocked it. So fresh, chicken was crisp and not greasy at all. Excellent dish, really fair pricing.
Couldn't resist the tartufo with expresso, top shelf.

All in all, really excellent, well priced food. Will definitely be coming back. This place is not only a take out place, but for a very fair priced dinner, served by nice people, in a decent dining room. Check it out”

“We visited this restaurant for dinner during a holiday weekend and left feeling somewhat disappointed. The location was convenient, with plenty of parking available both on the street and in a nearby lot. Inside, the restaurant was clean, nicely decorated, and had a welcoming atmosphere. The bar area looked great, and the small stage added some character to the space.

The staff was polite and friendly when we arrived, but the service lacked attention throughout the meal. Our table was rarely checked on, and our water glasses remained empty for most of the evening without anyone offering refills. Since the restaurant was relatively quiet at the time, it didn't seem like a result of being understaffed or overly busy.

As for the food, it was average at best. I ordered the seafood paella, but it was lacking the rich flavors I expected. More concerning was finding small pieces of broken clam shell mixed into the rice, which made me cautious with every bite. While mistakes can happen, it definitely affected the dining experience. Overall, the restaurant has potential, but both the food and service fell short of expectations during this visit.”

LB is “home” and the place was clean, the staff attentive and friendly, and the food (bagel, whitefish salad, lox spread and potato salad) were all just as they should be.
