“Awesome (Chicken) Katsu Curry. Got it while visiting a friend and already planning on getting it again next time I’m in town. Super friendly staff. Got it to go and they had the chicken, rice, and curry all organized and separated so it didn’t get mushy in transport. A great sign that they take pride in the quality of their food.“

“Very enjoyable sushi restaurant. I went here for a good dinner and was able to try a good spread of sushi for a reasonable cost.We started with the pork gyoza, which was nice and pan-fried with a side of the classic ginger sauce. For rolls, we tried the Philly roll, atlantic beach roll, pink panther roll, and million dollar roll. All fresh and tasty, but nothing really stood out above the rest.I would recommend this place for some good choices of sushi.

“I get the shrimp tempura 3 roll combo almost every week. What makes this place different from others is their CONSISTENCY! Every week I come it’s the same great tasting quality. Most spots you go to will be good one week and horrible the next . That’s not the case here . Would upload a picture but I already demolished it before I got a chance lol“

“This place is incredible and checks all the boxes the food tastes insanely fresh is perfectly prepared the waitress who usually serves us doubles as a bar tender that can smoke 90% of bartenders that work at local bars in the area. The food comes out quick and is presented beautifully the restaurant is immaculately clean and really nicely decorated on top of all this music they play is somehow always great oh and most importantly it is incredibly fairly priced

“As I entered this place , I seen how cute and clean it looks. They are polite and patient and receiving the food was fast like max 10 minutes wait. I ordered 3 rolls, the spicy shrimp, sweet potato and spicy tuna roll, which came out to under $25 dollars and I wasn't able to finish it which I'm happy about so I can enjoy again :) I will definitely hit this spot again , I'm glad it's here“

“An absolute and unexpected fantastic experience. The high quality food was freshly prepared and the service was so polite and friendly. They really understand takeout and pack the sauces and liquids separately so the food doesn't become soggy. The sushi and sashimi are prepared to order but they are very efficient and the wait time is not so long. Mizu is a huge step up from the usual asian takeout. It's restaurant quality.“

“I'd recommend this place ... sort of. We chose to sit on the dining side since it was only two of us and didn't want the "show". The service was friendly and good but not overly attentive. Our drinks were very good and a fair price (we had the Oceanside Zombie but without the Sprite added). We both ordered the hibachi surf and turf (lobster and filet mignon) which came with a house salad and clear soup, both of which we really enjoyed. The filet was tasty but the pieces were cut very unevenly so some pieces were medium rare and others were close to well done. The lobster tail was very small and too salty. I would not order it again. I was completely disappointed that the veggies were drowning in teriyaki sauce. There was no indication on the menu that they are served in sauce. I typically love hibachi vegetables but I hate teriyaki sauce! They reminded me more of Chinese takeout vegetables than Japanese hibachi. The fried rice was good but not the best. It came with lots of peas and I hate peas. Another disappointment but not a surprise was they don't offer hibachi mustard sauce. Like so many other places these days they offer yum yum sauce instead which we refused because, yuck yuck. They offered us some ice cream on the house (I think because the server knew I was very disappointed about the teriyaki sauce). It came to the table in little plastic cafeteria style cups with the pull back paper top. LOL. I'm glad it did though because the top listed the ingredients and let's just say, we immediately sent the ice cream back. All in all, not the greatest hibachi experience but also not the worst. I would maybe go back for drinks and try some other menu items ... and hold the teriyaki sauce!“

“I ordered take out party platters over the phone for the workplace this past Thursday and my co-workers and I couldn't have been more pleased. The initial ordering process was smooth. Pickup was on time at 12pm even though they only open at 1130am. And the sushi, as always, was fresh and delicious. Each party platter could easily feed 4-5 people and are reasonably priced. Everyone wants to order from here again in the future (even with work being in Westbury).“

Most sushi restaurants I’ve frequented over the years are inconsistent with quality and freshness—which is what got me to try Taku in the first place and I’ve never looked back! We order from here 3-4 times per month….and we love it! They also have great Asian dishes when I’m not in the mood for sushi, but the rest of my family is. “We came in on a Sunday about 8:40, well before the listed 9:30 closing time, and were warned as we came in that they actually close at 9:20. It seemed odd that it would be an issue with plenty of time to order; but apparently unlike most restaurants the closing time is a matter of when they expect you to actually leave.

Still, with seemingly enough time, we ordered, and the appetizer - soft shell crab - came quickly. Unfortunately, though it was not one of the dishes listed as “spicy”, it came with spicy mayo on top. I told the server that I can’t eat spicy food, would not have ordered it if I had known, and asked her to take it back. She gave me an argument, saying I should have told her I can’t eat spicy food. I pointed out that since they list some dishes specifically as spicy, one would assume - as in most other restaurants - that the rest are not. She reluctantly took it back, and informed us the Angel Roll we had ordered, also not labeled spicy, came with spicy mayo on top as well, so we also asked for that to be redone.

This pushed things closer to closing time, and rushed our meal a bit. But I have to say that the food was wonderful: The crab crisp outside, moist inside; the sushi fresh, and the pineapple shrimp fried rice delicious.

So despite the unfortunate attitude we encountered, this restaurant is well worth the trip for the excellent food. Just keep in mind that the closing time is not what’s listed on the website. And that it’s best, whatever the menu says, to ask details before ordering.“
