Don't even really know where to begin. I have never in my life seen steak tartare served with a cooked chicken egg on top. I would swear that the beef used for the steak tartare is the same beef used for the burger rather than a more appropriate cut. Oh yeah and going back to that chicken egg adding the hot egg on top of the cold beef turns the top portion of the beef the most unappetizing gray color you can possibly imagine. And the pomme frites that were ordered as an accompaniment... I was under the impression that they should be julienne cut and not huge honking steak cut abominations.
And then there's the steak. $52 for the most uninspired cut of meat I have ever tasted. Not quite sure who their vendor is but they should seriously rethink where they source their beef.
Despite all this the cocktails were fantastic and the service was absolutely incredible
Not sure what this restaurant's connection is with LB Social but you should definitely go there instead

We just moved to Long Beach and went for dinner at LB Bistro with friends who love the area. First of all, the space is decorated beautifully with a modern but comfortable vibe. The bartender was so sweet and he even made me his signature mocktail, which was delicious! We met Matt, the owner, who was so welcoming and knowledgeable about not only the menu, but also the city. He made us feel right at home. The food was spectacular with all of the traditional French foods you would expect, with some familiar classics too. We started with the seafood tower, escargot and croque monsiour appetizers. I had a salmon dish from their “specials” menu for dinner. Yummy! My husband had mussels. We both loved our meals and even saved room for dessert which was also amazing - it was a cinnamon pot de crème, perfect for Fall. The whole experience could not have been bad because we were there with great friends, but from start to finish, it was a lovely restaurant choice in every aspect. Thank you!

I hosted a baby shower at LB Bistro yesterday. All I can say is WOW! The owner Matt made sure that everything went smoothly. The hand passed hors doeuvres were delicious. The entrees were very generous sized portions of salmon, shrimp or chicken. My guests are still raving about how great all of the food tasted. The wait staff was incredible and catered to every need. If you are planning an event, LB Bistro is the place to go!!!

Superb food and drinks. The duck was a triumph and the appetizers were out of this world, particularly the roasted oysters.

5 of us came for dinner. They seated us at a table for 4 and stuck a chair on the end. This meant that there was almost no room for the apps we ordered for the table. The tables are diner style bare wood and the decor of the restaurant is best described as diner generic.
The escargot was actually well done. My duck had crispy skin but the meat was terribly over cooked. The risoto with shrimp looked nice but very over salted we left half. We also ordered mussels, they told us that the fries side order would cost $10, we agreed. The muscles were ok, not very hot. The "fries" turned out to be a single potato, cut into 5 wedges and deep fried to death. Only one wedge was tried and the rest was abandoned. Bread was good, probably the best thing.
While the wait staff were friendly, we were asked to order cocktails at least 4 times, despite having 2 bottles of wine on the table.
The worst thig was the desert. We had the French cheese cake and an Apple tart. While the cheese cake was basically a mouse, the apple tart was bitter and inedible. We told the waitres, but nothing was taken off.
The Bistro charges Manhattan level prices but fails to deliver anything in return.
If you want decent French cuisine, this "Bistro" is not the place to go. If you want a French restaurant that feels French - this is not the place to go. If you expect good food for your $40-$50 entrepreneur- this is not the place to go.
The only reason this review is even 2 stars, is because the waitress and the lady manager were very nice.

I've come here twice, first time was I believe their opening week and the second was recently. The food is really great, I believe they bake their bread on premise which is very cool to me. The staff is very kind. I don't know her name but I believe she is a manager, well she is great! Makes sure to check in on the tables and even got us an extra basket of bread for the end of our meal when my partner still had quite a bit of broth left for her to enjoy, that was a nice touch! My only complaint is that as beautiful as the place is, the "bar crowd" is kind of rowdy. I'd love to sit closer to or at the bar sometimes but its almost a frat guy atmosphere which is not the vibe here. I love it at a dark horse, but not what I'm coming for when I walk in here.

We had a nice dinner at LB Bistro. Service was excellent and most dishes (farro salmon, ny strip) and cocktails (martini, wine) prepared were to our liking. The beef bourguignon was a miss. The beef was tender and the accompaniments were fine. However, the sauce is supposed to be thicker, but was instead a watery brown liquid so the flavor and red wine accent didn’t pop out at all. This is a French restaurant so classic French dishes need to be done right (restaurant explained the thin sauce was for the summer season - i don’t buy that). Unfortunately, I didn’t have the appetite for more French dishes so my issue is just focused on the one dish. Otherwise, good visit and nice atmosphere. The restaurant seemed to care about other patrons from my observation and touched tables frequently.

Had dinner last night. Totally surprised at how salty some dishes were. Bone marrow so salty could not enjoy it. Also zuchinni pancakes burned on one side. Very disappointed. I love his other restaurant but would not be back to bistro.
