Ugly Duckling - Long Beach

We attended the Winter Wonderland Pop-up. The atmosphere was great! It definitely captures the holiday spirit and gets you in the holiday mood. However, the menu could have been a little better and offered their regular menu items. The chicken sandwich was small, and the chicken fingers were a little dry and salty. If the menu improves, we will be back next year.

Two young kids were helping the waiter very sweet young boys. Made for a nice holiday pop up. Santa and ms clause came around and gave my kids a good smile. My boys were rowdy and the staff was very kind about it.

Kid-friendliness: I have two toddler boys, and the staff were not annoyed by their excitement.

Went for a Christmas Pop Up. The idea was great, but the organizers will need a few more years of experience running something like this. Drinks were great, but food was less than drive-through quality. Overall, it brought an additional holiday vibe to the town of Long Beaxh.

We came to the ugly duckling for the winter pop up! The atmosphere was amazing! Jeff was our server and he was so nice and helpful!!! The food needed a little improvement! The drinks and dessert were good! It was still a fun experience!

Had Bailey the bartender and she was Amazing! She gave great service and corrected our bill. Honestly she made the trip worth it. Food was good, drinks great, service phenomenal.

Came on Sunday night at 5:15 and the restaurant was a club with loud music, a crowd of people and while we were dining smoke machines kept going off. I could understand if we had dined around 9pm, but to have a club scene at 5:15 is ridiculous. We will not be returning.

I went to The Ugly Duckling on Friday July 26.2024. I was there the entire night. Initially I had been buying shots for me and my friends and I was paying with cash. The drinks came out to be 50$ however once I ran out of cash I resorted to paying with my debit card. For whatever reason they decided to charge my card an additional 13$ and I did not leave a tip. Technically that is theft. I had already tipped the bartenders when I paid cash. Not sure if there is a debit/credit card fee but when I called the bar , I got no answer and no call back. Yes it is only 13$ but I cannot fathom how many more people they’ve done this to. And if there was a debit/credit card fee I should’ve been notified at that very moment. Why charge it to my card the next morning? It’s very disheartening to feel like I was stolen from. Especially from a place of business!!! I have a photo attached below. If in fact there was a credit/debit card fee, why wasn’t it charged the night of?

The entrees came before appetizers,we need to ask for plates and utensils,very loud music inside,we were moved outdoors.

Very laid back. Seemed to only have 1 waitress working. She was good but needed help, and more drinks could have been sold.

Hey

So last year I went here every Wednesday for karaoke. Recently the host of karaoke there keeps advertising that there is karaoke after trivia and then keeps telling me and my friends there is no karaoke there anymore. This really annoys us as if there is no karaoke they should stop advertising it and we are considering not going here on Wednesdays as this issue is happening consistently. We tried to talk to a manager here over the phone about this and no one answered. If something can be done about this issue as soon as possible that would be great sincerely

Came for the duckies in the drinks and stood for the food!

It's a great touch and adds character when you get a duck in your cocktail.
The chicken sandwich I had was great as well with the customer service. I hope to visit the area and ugly duckling again.

Despite the bad reviews I saw on this place I gave it a try and I’m happy I went.

The food was great, me and my friends all got different plates and we tried each others food & no complaints.

We did the bottomless mimosa. Our server was very nice& attentive, kept refilling our cups and checking in on us.

Definitely will be going back
