Walked in at 8:20 and was told they are not seating people. There were several tables available. They close at 9pm. I can understand if it was 8:45, but seriously? You stop seating people 40 minutes before your stated closing time? You’re only open for 4 hours…essentially 3.5. Was offered take out menu, but declined. There’s no mention of a last seating time on their website.

I've been meaning to come by for ages and finally dropped by with a friend for an early Friday dinner recently. We didn't have reservations, but when we got there around 5:45 there were still a handful of tables open (it did fill up quickly shortly thereafter though).
We ordered two main dishes to share - the paneer do pyaza and the dilliwala butter chicken - and also got an order of garlic naan (comes with 4 pieces) on the side. (The curries come with a side of rice as well.)
I really loved the butter chicken - the curry was really savoury and flavourful, and paired so well with the light garlic naan, and the chicken was really tender. I would definitely recommend this dish.
The paneer was also quite yummy - the texture was lovely, each cube not too hard - and the sauce was very full and rich. This might just be my personal taste, but I did feel like there was just too much other stuff going on (peppers, onions, etc.) that the dish felt a little haphazard overall.
We also each got one of the mango lassis, which was really yummy. The mango flavour tasted very fresh and not too sweet, and I liked that the yoghurt didn't feel too heavy or thick to drink.
A very nice meal overall, albeit definitely on the pricier side. That being said, I do think the price point is reasonable for the quality (esp given NYC price standards lol). I'd love to come back with a bigger group so I can try even more of their dishes (esp the appetisers!).

Appetizers are the start with some unique choices. Also the goat biryani is very good.

I came in with high expectations because I’ve heard Adda’s one of the best casual Indian restaurants in NYC and I was disappointed. Good, but nothing to write home about.
We got the Vada Pao, Gobi Manchurian, Garlic Naan, Junglee Maas, Tandoori Chicken, and Kofta Curry. I was not happy with the chicken but the rest was good. I’d recommend the Gobi Manchurian and Vada Pao.
If you’re looking for a true knockout, quality meal that’s worth the higher than standard Indian restaurant costs, you should go to Dhamaka.

Very bad experience, serves us right to go visit another of the unapologetic restaurants. Same rude staff, never seem to have worked in hospitality, the guy who served us had such an attitude like he was doing us a big favor!
Again, huge insistence on ordering the entire meal at once, even though it’s a casual restaurant, he made it sound like the chef was dome big Star hero and so super busy that he needed to get the entire order at once.
We are Indians and have a very high spice tolerance, but the biryani was so spicy that we could not even have two bites of it. Or everything with a one tone spice doesn’t make the food good. When we asked about the Spice level, we were just given a very snowy, the chef doesn’t adjust spice and this is a secret recipe, seriously?!
We were crying tears after two bites, and actually, the spice flavours were same as that of Semma, so we are sure they are using the same curries interchangeably.
20% tip added automatically, drinks are canned and dumped on the table without a glass or a smile, just an ‘ick’ level of service. Mango lassi provided pre packaged in plastic containers. They didn’t even provide paper napkins inspite of being asked multiple times.
Very slapdash service with rude, lost staff and all dishes dumped in the same spice so you can’t taste the dish at all. Never going back, beware and stay away to avoid an unpleasant experience.
Unapologetic foods, take note and train your staff pls

This place was on my list for a long time and I was so disappointed when I finally got to try it. We ordered the tandoori fish and the goat curry along with garlic naan. The fish had a very thick layer of green chutney on it, which was a big turn off. The goat curry had a LOT of coriander powder and garam masala in it, and when I told this to the waiter, he told us this is their secret spice mix. The naan was like pita bread. Can’t believe they are serving such trash quality food here.
I would stay away.

Parking, just forget about it. Very limited choices for Vegetarians. Food was close to authentic Indian ( if you compare with other restaurants that tend to serve food to locals taste thus killing the "authentic". Accessibility = difficult.
Vegetarian options: Also no indication of NO cross contamination between Vegetarian and non Vegetarian dishes
Dietary restrictions: No indication of No cross contamination

Decent place - the food is good and at a fair price; but didn't wow me. Biryani was good - we skipped the goat; but it was not lacking in flavor or spice.
Restaurantji Recommends
So much hype about this restaurant. I clearly don’t understand why. The Lucknowi Dum Biriyani is way over-priced and the taste was not up to the mark. The amount of ginger strands on it was way too over powering and killed the flavor.

The food here is phenomenal. Really phenomenal. We have been to many Indian restaurants, and this (along with the other unapologetic foods group restaurant we've been to, Dhamaka--we have not yet been to the third, Semma) is uneqivocally the best. The dishes are crafted with care and subtlety. I am also a vegetarian, and the options for me are fantastic, though the meat options also seem exciting. It's a revelatory experience every time.

This might be the most traditional Indian restaurant in the LIC area. Although it’s not located near a residential area, it still attracts a good number of visitors. Their curries, grilled meats, and breads all have a rich flavor, following a traditional style that sets it apart from other Indian restaurants. Highly recommended for those who appreciate traditional Indian cuisine.

This was my very first time trying the food in Adda and I definitely love the food. The biryani and chicken tikka masala is the must you guys should try in there. And I definitely love the food and environment. It is a very cozy to hangout with friends. The food is really delicious and the people in there were so sweet. I definitely recommend everyone to try their delicious food. :))
