Absolutely loved everything about this restaurant. The food, service, atmosphere, all were terrific. We started out with guacamole and chips and calamari blend. The latter was cooked to perfection with delightful seasonings and it was dressed up like I have never seen a fried calamari dish served before. The guacamole dip was to die for. Next came the paella and lomo saltado, and they too were we just fantastic. And they even had pina colada. Prices were not outrageous given the high cost of everything these days. A definite return is in order.
Sure bet for a good dining experience. Have eaten here many times. Food is delicious they make great cocktails along with a fun atmosphere.
We mistakenly booked this location and not Blend by the water. They held our reservation and we walked over. Staff were friendly. Room temperature was warm, AC could have been cooler. Will definitely return!
The service was good, but the food was seriously lacking.
There was no intention behind the flavors — not even the basics like seasoning. It felt like the food was cooked just to get it done, with no thought given to taste.
I ordered the steak ($36), and it literally tasted like nothing. My friend had the fish… we both stared at it and laughed — it didn’t look or taste right.
Honestly, the food had no soul. Disappointing, especially for the price
The ropa vieja was not great at all, I barely ate half of it. It was very bland and unseasoned. I made a reservation and was marked as no show even though when I walked in I was not asked if I had a reservation, the hostess just looked at my stroller and immediately ushered me to the back, seemingly uncomfortable with the fact that I had a stroller.
My partner and I used to make this our go-to dine-in spot in our neighborhood, but that has changed. The last time we went, the service was not up to par. They attempted to get away with a mandatory gratuity fee of 20% on the bill despite that it was only a party size of 3. If one cares to read the size 8 font at the bottom of the menu, this is a new development-- and it's only supposed to be 18% for a party of up to 4 and not 20%. We typically tip 18% anyway, but the lack of transparency and forthrightness left a sour taste and made the meal far less enjoyable.
The maître d' was also inattentive, playing on her phone by the door as we attempted to flag someone-- anyone-- down for the check. Eventually, a member of the waitstaff had to get her attention after about 5m-- enough time for my partner to go to the bathroom and come back, only to wait some more. This is the sort of service that comes with mandatory gratuity, I guess.
Food also took longer than usual to arrive and drinks were also slow, despite there were only 3 parties totaling less than 14 guests in the restaurant. As we were winding down conversation, there was a basket of yucca fries with about 3-4 pieces left. I don't know what possessed the waiter to clear that dish from the table, but without even asking if we were done, he just came in and took it away enroute from clearing another table without barely breaking his stride. I couldn't even get a word in.
All in all, it has fallen quite far from the service and atmosphere since we started frequenting 6 months ago. We have started ferrying to the city or venturing up Astoria for our weekend brunch dates. There are other places that are imposing mandatory fees, but they announce it with large signs and larger font at the top of the menu while still providing good service.
we were there with our co-workers and we had great time. Foods and drinks were good. we enjoy the time
Food was so flavorful. Had the pernil with rice and beans 5/5.. beef tacos 4/5! Sangrita drink and frozen margaritas 4/5! Def look forward to going back. Great alternative if you don’t want to spend as much or wait for blends on the water. More casual. Great happy hour!
Food is always great when we go there I only have one problem that I really just don't like ,,I get it I understand that you have to put the tip on the bill but it shouldn't be 20% You should be able to change it to whatever you want.. what if the service wasn't that good or whatever the case might have been it should definitely not be on 20% You should have the option of changing the tip amount or the business should at least put 18% or 15% and the customers give the extra... and also if I didn't look at the bill I would have never known that the tip was included bc no one said anything and also there was a couple of items on the bill that was added on to my bill that I never ordered and had to come off. It's a good thing the girl gave me a printed receipt so I was able to look at it. The food was good but this has to be rectified or unfortunately I may not come back as much as I like the place thank you very much
got asked to leave for reserved seating after spending quite a bit on dining and drinks

Our meal at this place was delightful! The portions satisfy hunger, the preparation is careful, and flavor is good. Employees here deliver service that truly amazes. This place combines nice surroundings with warm people. Your experience here will satisfy you.
So here at blend Lic, Miss Juanita, the best server in waitress ever OK best food here. I know the spot you need to come the crispy arepas A1 drinks all around great service must visit
Hostess was nice and service was good. I just realized that the gratuity was added and we also gave the hostess gratuity without realizing it was added to the bill and it was only 3 people. That is not right. Very upset that your establishment would add gratuity when it was only three people. I will not be visiting any time soon.
The food was cold. This is the second time I go and again the food comes out cold. The origin is a bit high for the quality of the food. Drinks were good. But the food was not high in standards
When I arrived they acted as if my reservation was a surprise. Then they tried to seat us directly in front the door. Once they seen my discomfort they squeezed us in between other couple in the middle of the floor. The drinks were okay they weren't too bad. The food I had to send back because it was done correctly, my partner was very unsatisfied with the Pre-Fixed menu entrees because they only had steak or chicken or pork no real authentic Latin American food per say. The blend near Steinway is way better.
