Bad service from Evelyn. Over the past 5 years I’ve frequently gotten the egg and cheese croissant here but noticed my sandwich today had a severely undercooked croissant that was ice cold even though they heat it up in the oven. You could see the lamination layers in the dough and it was sticky and gooey. I approached Evelyn about it and she said it always looks like that (it doesn’t) and they’re all the same and was rushing to get me to pick a different sandwich, which I didn’t want.
I had already paid for the sandwich so I asked for the same sandwich but cooked more and Evelyn caught an attitude and started talking about me in Spanish (which I also speak) to the other women. With so many new options now in the neighborhood, they should take undercooked food seriously and treat their customers better if they want to keep them.
Excellent place to get cakes, my favorite is the tiramisu.
Had some thick hot cocoa back in February when it was cold and dreary outside. Wonderful atmosphere, excellent staff and great foods.
Incredible pastries year after year. A must go to place.
One of the best iced mochas I've had in the city.
Bought a strawberry shortcake here for a gathering and it went down a treat. Beautiful presentation and tasted delicious.
I love Cannelle! The pastries are soooo good and so are the sandwiches! Unfortunately, the customer service has really fallen. Almost all the employees are extremely rude and have no patience for you. On my last visit, Evelyn was so rude and disrespectful she was basically yelling at me. I bought a cake for a birthday as well as a sandwich and pastry. I asked if it was okay for her to hold the cake so we could dine in and eat the sandwich and pastry since the tables are really small and she literally started yelling at me asking why I bought the cake if I wasn’t leaving. I explained that I didn’t want them to sell out because they’re really popular and she continued to yell at me that I should’ve waited. There was no reason for the rudeness or the attitude. Once I finished dining in I purchased additional items with another employee Sarah that was very kind, friendly and helpful. I purchased additional sandwiches and asked Sarah if they could write the happy birthday on the cake in a different language and she said yes of course. When Evelyn saw me checking out again with the other employee she started yelling at me again that I was taking too long and they had a long line and I needed to hurry up. The other employee Sarah told me it was fine and not to worry she would change the writing for me. Even though I was now being helped by a different employee, Evelyn kept trying to yell at me. As soon as Sarah went to the back to change the writing she started yelling at me again. It was a horrible experience.

You were open Christmas when my coffee maker died! I've gone there multiple times before & your food & service are always top notch. I went in for coffee & came out with everything under the sun!

This is a great spot for a quick French dessert or sandwich takeout! My only minor gripe is that they often sell out of their best sandwich options early, leaving the same limited selection available in the afternoons. I’m no expert, but wouldn’t it make sense to prepare more of their best sellers and fewer of the sandwiches that consistently go unsold?

This restaurant is very reasonably priced and always fresh. This time I ordered the mustard salami sandwich.Too bad there was quite a bit of mustard in it and all I could taste was mustard. However, the bread is still delicious! They are crunchy on the outside and very chewy on the inside. This restaurant has an identical location in Jackson Heights.

you can't blame a mother of two young ( of color) twins for cleaning up what her little one spilled!!!!! this mom was polite to ask for an apology but the team's behavior makes her feel very embarrassed. the food is more succulent but there is an effort to be made on the welcome and the good conduct of the staff
this bakery has such a special place in my heart.
we've been buying birthday cakes from this bakery for the past year and everything we got (the napoleon, chocolate mousse cake, black forest cake, espresso 31) was delicious! i think the standout is definitely the espresso 31 as it has so many different elements (almond chocolate cake, espresso creme brulee, chocolate mousse, and chocolate pearls). there are lots of different flavors and textures that worked well together. the cake is so good that i've requested it for my birthday again after having it for my last birthday. the rest of my family tried it this time and really liked it too.
we've also gotten other goodies like the brownie, cheesecake (amazing), carrot cake, and a roasted chicken and sirarcha sandwich and they were all good!
this place is such a gem and we will keep coming back for sure.
