Not a lot of vegan options, but the ones they have are tasty and the service is very professional.

Went for dinner on a busy Saturday night with a friend. The medium spicy guacamole with warm freshly made chips and the ceviche left a delicious after kick of chili and lime that lingered.
The hero dish was the Carne Asada. Eating out, I always avoid red meat dishes where it’s not minced or thinly sliced to avoid dealing with a chewy cut. I was apprehensive but our waiter suggested it and wow! It was medium well, pink on the inside, you will need a proper, not a butter knife to cut it. Yet somehow it was tender and the marinade (which kinda tasted like an orange and balsamic glaze had a baby!) was amazing. I savored every bite. It came with a lime green noodle-cut veggie in a creamy sauce. I was told it was cactus which I have never tried before. Yum!
We closed it out by sharing a Pastel Tres Leches which was light, creamy and just the right amount of sweet to go with our bold espressos.
My favorite part of dining at Casa Enrique was sneaking a peak into the kitchen as I lingered on the steps making my way to the bathroom. The kitchen was spotless, neat as a pin and staff were going on with jokes and banter as they worked – I don’t speak Spanish and wished I was in on the joke. Did I mention it was a busy Saturday night?
I am paying though the nose for having one too many of the irresistible Chef's Margarita last night. Coffee, cold pizza and Advil for breakfast.
Thank you for a lovely dining experience : )

My Perla Blanca drink was delicious and my husband loved the Mole de Piaxtla. I had the branzino, which maybe was a silly thing to order. Nonetheless it was quite disappointing and I was shocked that for $35 it was literally a piece of branzino with no sides except tortilla. No rice, vegetable, nothing. Very disappointing. I did not want to pay an extra $8 for rice. We sat outside on a beautiful night so that was lovely but I feel very ripped off. In addition we never saw the waiter after ordering.

Wow, Has this place gone downhill in 6-9 months. It was my favorite Mexican in NYC. Tonight was abominable. The pozole - used to be a fav - was horrible and was served a dark brown color. The other food was barely warm. Guac, rather than crushed, was almost liquified as if it was in a blender. I’ll never go again. Steer clear. I’m still in shock because it used to be amazing. Service was fine, but the food was really bad.

I cannot believe what the interior of this Michelin restaurant is like. The walls are bare and it was just meh in the worst possible way. I have seen other restaurants that make their dining experience much more comfortable.
The food was yummy and the drinks were ok. My waiter did not know the margarita flavors offered. Honestly did not live up to all the hype.

I wanted to love this place. Coming off the Queens Bourdain episode I appreciated the historical significance this place has on the food scene in New York. They elevated Mexican food and created a movement that led to wonderful restaurants like Oxomoco. However, casa Enrique is lacking. The food is solid but highly priced and mediocre. The service was so good that they kept asking for everything twice- a clear lack of communication between the team. I appreciate the significance of this place but have to give 3 stars.

Ordered Tacos de Pescado (Cerveza Battered Market Fish w/ Avocado Sauce) and Tacos Veganos de la Temporada (Seasonal Vegan Tacos) for takeout.
The fish tacos were relatively good. 4 ⭐.
The vegan tacos, on the other hand, were bad. 2 ⭐. Whatever sauce was, it was so strong, that it kind of overwhelmed the whole thing. And it wasn't a good sauce, so that was a double whammy.

A business that deserves Michelin stars. The flavors and Mexican cuisine of this establishment, which I have visited before, are wonderful!
Vegetarian enchiladas for brunch were incredible!
Kid-friendliness: High chair provided, cheese enchiladas prepared off-menu

Easily one of the best Mexican places I have ever been to. Each plate we ordered reminded me of when I visited Mexico years ago. The mole and chivo was nostalgic to taste. I have never had a chile relleno in a tomato sauce but it was still good. The drinks were phenomenal.
