the food was great but beware of them double charging you, specially as a big group. there’s live music but it starts around 10:30 so also prepare for that, since it’s way later than what they announce

We arrived on a Saturday night at 8:00 and it was fairly quiet but that's only because things really get going at about 10:00 when live music begins. The restaurant fills up and there is a very friendly family feel to the festivities. Overall, this was some of the best Greek food we have ever eaten. The food was excellent and the service too. We felt like part of something very quickly. The Spanakopita and spicy sausage appetizers were exceptional. The octopus and lemon potatoes very good and the seafood pasta excellent. The portions are very generous. Even the bread basket was exceptional. I always feel I am in for a treat when the bread is delicious. We highly recommend Dionysos.

I retired after 32 yrs with the USPS & know basically every eating establishment in Astoria, Ny. Hands down , I give this Taverna more than 5 stars. Their lamb & potatoes amazing. The lamb is like butter, comes off the bone. Excellent Sangria, the best I’ve tasted so far. The flavor & taste is off the hook. Doesn’t need any fruit at all. Definitely going again with my family on a regular basis !

Service was slow. Server kept forgetting requests. Atmosphere needs improvement. Food was ok. And food is over priced. Not coming back nor recommending it to anyone.

I love live music. And you really have to try hard for me to have a problem with the volume of music. Last night was the first time I've ever asked for the volume to be turned down. I think our waiter tried to explain why he couldn't do anything about it, but I have no idea what he said. My ears are ringing today like they were after seeing The Who at Shea in 1982. We ordered a Greek salad to start, (good, although the tomatoes were very cold). Before we were half-way through, the halloumi and spanikopita were served. The halloumi was fine, but nothing I couldn't do at home. Spanikopita was special...maybe the best I've ever had. Again, before we were done, the branzino and chicken souvlaki were served. Both well-cooked and the lemon potatoes were fantastic. So; good food and very friendly people. The pace of the meal was way too fast, (maybe they were trying to have mercy on our ears?) Only major problem was seeing one of the musicians lighting up a cigarette as he walked back to the kitchen. That's a major fail.

we did a open table reservatio when we arrived they said that the restaurant was full and that the next table was going to be available at 11:30PM. I needed to call because there was no hostess in the front. Seems that the they dont coordinate the open table reservations. We just went to another restaurant.

They are one of the few remaining Greek Cypriot restaurants in Astoria and are a solid choice for lunch; they are pretty spacious with a music stage. I came here for a business meeting and was not disappointed with the food and service. Yes, they are a solid recommendation. We ordered soup, tarama, and a souvlaki platter. They are better than Aliada.

It was a Saturday night. before Halloween We were in Astoria and were going to go to The Bohemian Beer Garden but it was a total mess with screaming kids and wasted teenagers we couldn’t find a server. It was loud and crowded! Yeesh. So we did a Google search for a place to eat in the area and just a few blocks down we were able to find this lovely oasis of peace and delicious food. We were there earlier and missed the music which would have been fun.

Came here at an off hour yesterday 3PM with a friend. We were so hungry I forgot to take pics. Since no one was here the food came out pretty quickly. We ordered an octopus special with lemon potatoes and a chicken souvlaki with lemon potatoes. The lemon potatoes and chicken souvlaki was very good and I very much enjoyed. The octopus I think was highly under seasoned unfortunately, the cook was still good. Came with bread, pita and tomatoes, cucumbers and onion.Looks like they have live music some nights
