KAL Korean Food in Astoria is a great spot if you’re looking for solid Korean food at a really good value. They have a lunch special before 4 p.m. that’s only $15, which is honestly hard to beat for the amount of food you get. The portion sizes are very large, so you definitely won’t leave hungry.
We tried the tofu appetizer and it was surprisingly crunchy on the outside and very flavorful easily a standout. Everything came out fresh and satisfying. Overall, this is a spot I’d highly recommend, especially for lunch if you’re in the area.

Cozy spot with super delicious food and great service. We got the crunchy tofu, pork and chive dumplings, and spicy pork and bulgogi.
Crunchy tofu had great flavor and was indeed crunchy. Pork and chive dumplings were delicious - we got them fried and they were crispy and hot. Lots of filling in them too.
Bulgogi with ssam set was great. The beef was tender and the onions were sautéed perfectly. It came out piping out and the ssam was such a great addition.
The spicy pork was indeed spicy and delicious.

Magnificent! There is not enough words to describe how delicious the food is in KAL. Walking around Astoria I found this GEM, their kindness and service is marvelous, the portions of food are just perfect. I visited during lunch time and it was such a nice experience! My favorite to go place from now on for Korean food 🥘 Thank you Andy for the great conversation and such a great service ✨

I had the lunch set which was a good deal, the bulgogi and rice was good a tad bit too sweet for my liking. But I mainly went for the soup, which was extremely disappointing. The kimchi soup had tasted like salt no other favor except salt, and my partner had gotten the tofu soup which tasted like water and the tofu in both were cold which made no sense as it came in a boiling hot stone bowl… the actual food was good but the soup could use a lot of work…

I ordered Galbi bibimbap & spicy pork ... charged me 22 dollars for galbi and gave few tiny pieces of meat with rice n veg. The portion size was small. I am never ordering from this restaurant. Its a rip off. I want give 0 stars

Ordered delivery online the food was hot and packed well. Loved the tofu stew really good flavor and seasoning also sent side dishes 😋 not all korean restaurants do. Delivery was quick and portion sizes not bad. Short rib bibimbap could of used a little more veggies in my opinion especially for the price but decent. Will try again.
I ordered Crunch Tofu for pickup from the kal korean Restaurant today. It was very delicious. And a female employer gave me crispy potato croquettes on the house. Omg That was also very delicious. I thank him. Of course I will come again.

KAL is an awesome spot for Korean food in Astoria! We’ve tried most of the items on the menu now, at the restaurant and takeaway, and everything is always so good! Don’t forget to enjoy with a cold Terra or soju. They never miss - highly recommend!
