Had the pleasure of celebrating my line sister’s engagement at this beautiful establishment! All of the staff was very accommodating and everything went smoothly. Out of all of our appetizers, the meatballs were to die for. And they made what was probably the best French 75 I’ve ever tasted. Very blessed girls.
Overall Delicious food (except for 2 dishes). Quiet for Sunday lunch. Wait staff attentive. Both table side dishes “cacio e Pepe” and “truffle pasta” were pretty salty and overpowered by the cheese. The rigatoni vodka was especially delicious. Other dishes were very good. Fresh pasta was al dente.
Dined here for Fourth of July, some of the best Italian food in Queens.
Their chicken parm is delicious, Cacio Pepe prepared live on a cheese wheel in front of you and tastes amazing too.
Make sure to try their cappuccino after your meal 😶🌫️
Unfortunately, our food was not that great I ordered the special pasta dish which came out cold when I brought it to the attention of the weight staff, they brought it back to the chef and he said it's supposed to be room temperature. I understand that, but you should tell the person ordering it that I would've ordered something else. Very disappointed.
Really nice restaurant. Great ambiance, attentive and kind servers and really good food. They offer a pre fixe 3 course menu which looks pretty good. My only remark was it took a little too long than expected for our food to come out. Not sure if it was because the restaurant seemed pretty full at the time we arrived (8:30pm on a Tue) or smth else. Anyways the meals we chose were delicious, we had a good evening out and enjoyed our experience at Maiella.
The chicken parmigiana, which I consider a “safe” meal to order at a restaurant when it is your first time there was AWFUL. Skinny, dry, and not tasty. And not cheap! Also, the shrimps they used for the shrimp cocktail were medium to small, just NOT what should be used for shrimp cocktail. I would have returned both except I was Dining with an elderly former client and did Not want to embarrass her. I called the manager on my way home and he said he would buy me a drink if I came back. I said I do not drink and drive. He said well I hope you will come back and give the chicken parmigiana another chance. I said I might if it was free but I am not paying for it. Very poor response to my complaint.
Do not go to this place, my girlfriend made a reservation to go to dinner, we stopped to see how good the restaurant looks from the outside since it has beautiful windows where you can see the living room and the kitchen, we were watching how the people in the kitchen were preparing the dishes and we found something totally disgusting, the man in charge of making sure the dishes were sent to the tables, having a good presentation, did not stop cleaning the plates with his fingers and then licking them, continuing like this with the next dish, all of this without washing his hands and thus sending the food to the table, after having contaminated the food with his saliva, it was so disgusting that we could not enter
Although I had good experiences on prior visits, I was rather disappointed with this visit. They brought me a dish that I did not order and apologized and said it was their fault, not mine. Needless to say, my dining companion was finished by the time by correct dish was served. What a great way to ruin a dining experience.
I chose Maiella to celebrate my spouse's birthday and was disappointed. The Maitre De was very friendly, and the decor was lovely. Unfortunately, I found the dining room chair to be very uncomfortable but perhaps that's just me. Our server was initially attentive but unable to answer questions about a few of the cocktails we were interested in. To his credit, he asked the bartender and returned with some information and the bottle of liquor to show us. We ordered 3 appetizers and a salad, asked for dressing on the side and for them to be brought out when ready rather than all at once. Plates came out all at once, salad was dressed and the waiter asked if we would accept the salad dressed. Unfortunately, there was too much dressing for our liking and once again requested it to be put on the side, The server returned the salad and gave us a fresh, undressed one (dressing was very sweet so glad we returned the original). While eating, our server was attentive and refilled our wine glasses from the bottle we ordered however, once we said we did not want desert, he disappeared. I had to literally flag him down to get the check. We really wanted to have a great experience but unfortunately, it fell short.
The food and atmosphere were great, as always. The only reason this review is at 3 stars is because of the obnoxious maître d or whoever the young woman at the front of house was. When we got there and were waiting at the front desk- she did not greet us, she actually barely looked up to acknowledge we were there. Mind you at this point the restaurant is also empty and we had a reservation. I told her my name- 6 people and 2 stroller babies at 1pm. She proceeds to rudely tell me how she didn't see the note about babies on my reservation. Walks off to go “checking” I don't know what because the place has a large open space. Then RUDELY says you can't bring your strollers in. Both myself and my friend had small umbrella strollers with 6 month babies in them. There was more than enough room for them where we were seated. Long story short - She was annoyed to be working, and that is the worst person to have greet you (or not) when you first walk into a restaurant. If we were not there for a baby luncheon for my friend, who is pregnant, I would have reacted a lot differently to her and made a bigger deal about her ridiculous behavior.

This is the perfect place to throw an event, dinner with someone special, a place to come and watch the game and have a nice drink. Food is ALWAYS delicious. Place is clean the staff are accommodating, respectful, and truly care. Big shoutout to Mr. Tyler and Mr. Anthony thank you for your outstanding professionalism and making my dad, my family, and me feel special on his special day and me always when I come in.
You won’t be disappointed coming here.
The place is beautiful and cozy, but unfortunately the food was very disappointing. The pasta was one of the worst I've had — lacking flavor.
Beyond amazing and friendly staff. Food was amazing and came very quick. Drinks were also perfect. Definitely visiting again and again!
Disappointing birthday dinner. Overcooked or sold out items (multiple). At least the ambience was beautiful.
This is the second time we were with this server and he is excellent. Everyone loved their meal. This is now our go to place for birthdays Thank you!
