Parking: The problem with parking is that New York City has made parking a total disaster for car owners. Unused bicycle lanes, city bikes occupying parking spaces, outside pedestrian sitting areas….go sit in a park and this will only get worse. I feel bad for these business owners because many of their longtime customers don’t want to deal with this.

This place is fantastic (Insert appropriate expletive inside fantastic).
The moment you walk in from its corner entrance, you instantly feel you might have traveled back in time several decades, AND, if you let them, you actually will. Handwritten reservations? ✅ Years-long regulars arriving as you are? ✅
The first surprise is when they lead you from that front room to your table, through a series of well compartmentalized dining rooms, each with the same charm but own aesthetic. And the host is the owner, and probably your server, and will almost certainly give you the liberty to pick the best table for you. This does not happen (proactively) in NYC restaurants anymore. Nowhere.
I regret not checking out the next room where a large group was clearly celebrating a birthday.
As one of my dinner guests said (we were all first timers, late to the game apparently), "every minute I'm falling in love with this place more and more."
Don't hesitate to follow the standard Italian structure here: get some antipasti, then get some pasta, then go for the meat and fish after that. The menu doesn't try too hard and excels at execution. Get the clams (use the lemon). Get some vegetables. Don't skip the Carbonara. One of our party was Tomato averse, but I will focus on those pastas next time. The veal chop, perfectly cooked. We also passed on some classics: Parm, Francese. Marsala, but I will not pass on those in the future.
Place has been around since the 70s. So has some of the wine. The main list is all red, but there are some whites if you ask (white we brought, and corkage is beyond reasonable). The sommelier is well versed (as is the owner) and will almost certainly point out something you overlooked, even after choosing a real gem at an exceptional price point.
Do not skip dessert, and don't be bothered that all are presented nearly identically with chocolate drizzle and puffs of almost gratuitous whipped cream. Cannolo unreal. Cheesecake ?. Coconut sorbet delicious and, unsuspectingly, with shreds of coconut inside.
Don't walk. Run.
Hidden family style Italian restaurant in LIC! Great food and lots of choice of wine.

This is old school American Italian cooking at its finest. We had the baked clams, gnocchi in tomato sauce, and seafood special in white sauce over linguini. If you were raised on Italian food in Queens and miss the restaurants of yore this is the place to come.

Food was not good: fried calamari with too much basic panco breadcrumbs, carbonara was spicy (??) and with cooked eggs / omelette style (?????) and mostly pancetta fat.Service was ok, nothing special (we actually had to ask to hear for the specials).Atmosphere is a bit gloomy when entering.

Felt like I was at a family members house for dinner. This place is deceptively spacious. There are three dining rooms and a front bar area. We were seated in the 2nd dining room and greeted with menus which were single page which I like because it usually means everything on there will be good.Def get the calamari. The red sauce it comes w is poppin. I could live w/o the stuffed mushrooms next time. The veal parm was quality. The manicotti was better than the lasagna.Stay for the desert. I’m getting tiramisu for take out on the regular now and it was like $8. Thanks manducatis. I’ll be back for sure

Excellent food, kind and friendly service, family owned and run. They are very accommodating, clean, great for business lunch, romantic dinner or the back room for private parties. Bar is stocked. Known them for years and they never disappoint. The lasagna is amazing.
