In terms of restaurant ambiance and quality of food, one of the best spots. Love going here to enjoy a meal in their back patio
My second experience dining at R40 and it was still amazing! Tried different apps and mains, delicious đ My friend's husband got the burger and we all took a bite- so so good! We have to go back to each get a burger of our own. I got the snapper which was delish and my friend got the chicken milanesa- wow, the greens on it were so tasty! Can't wait to go back!
always a must when i'm in town. can't wait to be back x
Amazing food! Love the location and ambiance . Great customer service, canât wait to come back!
Overall, a very good meal but a few issues:
- The focaccia (as good as it was) is a complete ripoff. Itâs $16, so $8/slice (!!!). Crazy. Also, what they served us was unacceptable. We really should have said something. One slice was a butt and half the size of the other slice.
- The arroz con negro, which also very good, is overpriced. The only seafood in the dish was one piece of shrimp and two small pieces of squid. $26.
- The Caesar salad was barely dressed. I was literally eating dry lettuce.
Recs:
Food - empanadas, arroz con negro, gnocchi, skirt steak (so so good), flan
Drinks - Patagonia spritz, dried apricot limeade
Went to R 40 for brunch with my three kids to celebrate my birthday, and I can honestly say it was one of the best dining experiences Iâve had in Queens. The food was absolutely incredibleâfresh, flavorful, and beautifully plated. But what really stood out was the service. The staff was beyond kind and accommodating, especially considering my kids were full-blown animals that morning. They didnât just tolerate the chaosâthey handled it with grace, patience, and even a few laughs. I left full, happy, and genuinely impressed. Highly recommend R 40 to anyone looking for great food and even better hospitality.
I ordered the ribeye, medium, and it came out rare. Could I have sent it back? Sure. But I hate doing that unless something is really inedibleâand honestly, I was already annoyed. On top of that, they drowned the steak in sauce. Why? If your meat is high-quality, let it speak for itself. I could barely taste it under the sauce. Wouldâve been nice if someone mentioned that ahead of time so I could ask for it on the side. To top it all off, the place was freezing. Itâs the middle of winterâhow is this not something theyâve figured out? Maybe install a second door or, I donât know, turn up the heat?
Bottom line: overpriced, underwhelming, and uncomfortable. I left annoyed and hungry. Not coming back.
Excellent food but service really interfered with a good dining experience. It seemed like they were short staffed, the one waitress , who did her best, seemed to be working the whole dining room. We had to ask to have our plates removed after dinner and restaurant had emptied out. But the good food and drink was enjoyable.
Delicious food, parrillada 10/10! Drinks are the best! Should add more cocktails with Rum â„ïž
Amazing! Our waitress Courtney was great and very accommodating with my wife's dairy allergy.

R40 in Long Island City, is a full bodied flavor packed experience bridging together elegantly the Italian influences on Argentina, with the native hospitality of Argentina and a homely feeling with each bite. My group of 3 was warmly greeted and catered to by an excellent and informative staff who's dedication to welcoming us accentuated our time there.
The food was very good but if I were to come back I know I'd be ordering the choripan and the basket of empanadas again!

Such yummy food!! Ambiance was lovely, just surprisingly quiet for a Thursday night. Highly recommend this spot!
Been coming here since theyâve opened and they never disappoint. Great ambiance and great attention to detail. The staff is super knowledgeable and welcomed my questions. Highly recommend the arroz negro and parillada. Drinks are great, try the bandolero. You wonât regret it! And donât forget the choripan.

Food is 10/10 I couldnât even wait to take a pic until I tried everything. Sadly the service leaves a lot to be desired.
Ordered the parrillada for two and it took much, much longer than it should have. I must also say the restaurant wasnât even that busy about half the tables were open. Waitress and (who seemed to be) the manager just kept saying âitâs comingâ and didnât really seem to care.
I understand these things happen and it might have been an isolated incident but the staff reaction didnât make it seem like it was.
Not sure if Iâd necessarily go back but I would maybe order take out.
