SAPPS is my go-to neighborhood spot in LIC whenever I’m craving sushi. Their sushi sashimi combo entree is my absolute favorite and it never disappoints. The fish is always fresh and beautifully presented. If you’re lucky, you might even get fatty tuna in both the sushi and sashimi selection, which is such a treat.

I also love how accommodating the staff are. I’m not a huge fan of the eel avocado roll that comes with the combo, so I usually ask to swap it out for another roll around the same price. They’re always happy to make the change, and if you happen to choose something slightly more expensive, they’ll just charge you the difference. Super easy and chill.

Another dish I always order is the takowasabi. It’s fresh, a little briny, and has the perfect amount of wasabi kick. So good.

Highly recommend SAPPS if you’re in the area and looking for great contemporary Japanese food in a relaxed, friendly setting.

Ramen broth was burnt, and left me a terrible after taste. Staff would never come over.

Solid spot with a relaxed atmosphere and plenty of Japanese food options other than sushi! They also have a creative cocktail list. My favorite bites were the yakitori, particularly the chicken skin—so crunchy and flavorful. The crispy rice with spicy tuna was also really good. Easy walk from Queensboro/ Queens Plaza subway stops.

While the food and the tequila selection are top notch here the part I enjoyed far and away was the service. Can't say enough nice compliments about both the assistance and the experience from the bar staff. Good experienced individuals that know how to run a bar. This place will be a stop I look forward to any time I'm in town. Thank you.

This is one of the best spots for sushi in NYC. The ambiance, food, and staff are AMAZING. Shoutouts to Kev, Daryl, and Sally for always making my wife and I feel extremely welcomed. The fish is extremely fresh and honestly rivals some of the omakase spots that we've tried. The value here is unbeatable!

Sapps is an absolute gem! The ambience is warm and inviting, creating the perfect cozy setting for an unforgettable dining experience. The sashimi is excellent quality—each bite melts like butter in your mouth, fresh and expertly prepared. Their cocktails are just as impressive, perfectly balanced and delicious. Kevin makes the most delicious cocktails ever!

Living in West Palm Beach and being close to Miami, I’ve explored many sushi spots, but none compare to Sapps. This place truly stands out for its authenticity, quality, and atmosphere. Whether you're a sushi lover or just looking for a great dining experience, Sapps is a must-visit!

Went for dinner and it didn't disappoint. We had Shumai for appetizer, Salmon Teriyaki, some sushi rolls and cheesecake tempura. Tastes good. I'll give them 8/10. The atmosphere was fun. Our server was very energetic. Food arrived on time and we had a great time. Most importantly the prices are fair enough.
