The drinks were just as impressive as the food

If I could give zero stars, I would. Skinny’s Cantina was easily one of the most disappointing dining experiences I’ve ever had—and that’s saying something.

Let’s start with the “bottomless brunch.” More like bottomless regret. The mimosas? Either the orange juice was watered down, or they’re serving Champagne-flavored tap water—couldn’t tell, but either way, it was undrinkable. We literally had to spike our own drinks just to feel something. That’s not bottomless brunch, that’s BYOB with extra steps.

And don’t even get me started on the food. They charged me extra for butter on my toast and cheese on my eggs. Yes, you read that right—an upcharge for cold, rock-hard butter that couldn’t spread if its life depended on it. I’ve had better toast at a motel continental breakfast.

Then there’s the lemonade they gave my daughter. It was straight-up concentrate and water. No shame at all. When we complained, they said they added sugar—spoiler alert: they didn’t. They just watered it down again and hoped we wouldn’t notice.

The service? Nonexistent. We genuinely felt like we were bothering them by showing up. Zero warmth, zero effort, and zero accountability. It was clear they didn’t care about our experience—or anyone’s, for that matter.

Skinny’s Cantina is all hype and absolutely no substance. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy. Do yourself a favor and brunch literally anywhere else.

Skinny’s is great - they slimmed down their menu recently but left on everything good. Love the atmosphere, love the guac, love the margs. I always get the roasted corn salad with steak and look forward to it when we go which is about once a month

I watched a waitress COMB HER HAIR over OPEN mixer/juice containers behind the bar. 1. The comb appeared to be STORED behind the bar so NOT a new situation. 2. We let the bartender know and he seemed very unconcerned. 3. This person was NOT (as far as I could tell) someone who needed to behind the bar, appeared to be waiting tables. We know Skinny and have been here on multiple occasions. I could not finish my food or drink. Where do you comb your hair in your home? Not your kitchen.

I’m really disappointed with our experience at this restaurant. We came in with a Groupon deal for 4 people ($95), expecting decent food and a fun night out. Unfortunately, things went downhill quickly.

First off, the food was mediocre at best—definitely not worth the full price or even the Groupon value. But what really upset us was the forced tipping policy. At the end of the meal, they demanded a tip of over 25%, totaling $60. That’s more than half the cost of the Groupon, and we weren’t even given a choice. It was presented as mandatory, and when we questioned it, we were told we had to pay it.

I’ve never been to a restaurant that forces a tip this high, especially when the service and food don’t justify it. I understand tipping is standard, but guests should be allowed to decide the amount based on their experience not be pressured into a fixed high tip.

I wouldn’t recommend this place. The deal sounds good at first, but in the end, you’re likely to pay more than you expect, and not get your money’s worth.

Oh I forgot when they brought the receipt it was cut up idk why ! I asked and they said it’s so the client won’t get confused but that was very unprofessional.

I felt violated and disgusted shame on you.

Stopped by Skinny Cantina for a solo late lunch on a Sunday. Service was good and friendly.

The chips and salsa were a nice start, the sangria hit the spot, and the maduros were perfectly done—sweet and satisfying. The carne taco was decent but could’ve used a bit more flavor.

One thing to note: there’s an automatic 20% gratuity added to the bill, so keep an eye out for that. Overall, a solid spot for a casual bite and drinks.

i ate here with a friend and our subtotal was $33. there was tax, which is normal, but then gratuity was $6.60. why is there an ALREADY SET gratuity of 20%?? 😭😭 its the customers decision as to what tip amount should be given. not eating here again 😬😬

It was a great experience. We have been to this restaurant a couple times and the food and drink are always so good and simple. We had a great time.

Food was extra salty, drinks extra sugar watered down. Last they add any tip they want. When you ask to remove so you can apply what is right for the service. They refuse to remove it. It should be illegal to add a high tip.

Unfriendly host. Runners and bussers were very nice and friendly. Waiter added gratuity to my check and didn’t tell me. We were only a 2 top. That was uncool, I probably won’t go back because of that.

The service was notably slow; it took over thirty minutes for our avocado chips appetizer to arrive. Additionally, the waiter did not provide forks or plates when the food was served. This was particularly disappointing given that a 15% service fee is applied. Overall, this experience did not meet my expectations.

Great staff, food & drinks were awesome. The 1 lower star is only because I'd love to see more of an offering for their mains. Definitely going back though!
