We were skeptical about this place because the bakery is on a street full of warehouses. It has some decent reviews so my friend and I thought we'd give it a try. Initially we wanted to go to Doughnut Plant near by, but we didn't realize they are only open on weekends. When we walked in there was one customer there, but it didn't seem busy at all, however no one greeted us. When we walked up to order the employee seemed annoyed/cold. Maybe they were having a bad day? We ordered coffee and asked which pastries were popular. The reply was "depends." Not very helpful. We ended up getting a GF brownie and the fudge espresso cookie. The brownie was OK. It wasn't any better than boxed brownies from the grocery store. The cookie was extremely hard - we just threw it away. The coffee was decent. However, my friend asked for soy in hers, but they gave her regular milk. So that too went in the trash because she is dairy intolerant. We didn't even brother going back to tell them.

Cookies are delicious, creative and the sky's the limit with what this company can do.. Send a bunch of cookies to my sweet daughter for her birthday and she absolutely loved them! Delivered with a smile!!

We got a chocolate bundt cake for my boyfriend who is both gluten and dairy intolerant. It completely exceeded my expectations!! What was surprising was it was not super sweet, and the texture was dense and moist. Totally delicious!!!! I will NOT wait for another birthday to get one again soon! And the brownies were fab, too. Very dense, sweeter than the bundt cake, so, perfect if that is your preference. The folks that work there are super nice, too.

Amazing bakery producing delicious health conscious goodies. True mom and pop establishment for over 20 years serving all of NYC and Long Island. I love their cafe located right in front of the bakery. As your ordering up something delicious you get to smell and hear the magic from behind the scenes. Plus their staff makes you feel right at home, from their warm welcome to their friendly smiles. Tip: It's best to support small businesses and totally worth starting here. Cheers

3.5 stars, rounding up for the incredible prices Hidden in a side street, Sensible Edibles is primarily a wholesale bakery that has opened up a small cafe to sell to locals in the area. In addition to their baked goods (primarily muffins and cookies, with a vegan focus), they also have a menu of sandwiches and salads. The sandwiches were super reasonably priced ($6 for a turkey sandwich). I got their special hummus sandwich, which came with hummus, eggs and veggies. The eggs in the sandwich were the highlight - perfectly overeasy, and while all the ingredients were fresh, I didn't think they came together all that well (to be fair, they were missing mozzarella and I think the eggplant was subbed out for zucchini, plus I belatedly remembered that unless it's super smooth high quality hummus, I tend to not love having it in a sandwich). But I imagine with a more straightforward / classic sandwich, it would be quite solid. The apple crumb muffin ($3), which is supposed to be one of their most popular items, was good and moist, but too sweet for me (I prefer lighter / airier desserts). Not a knock on their muffin - if you like muffins definitely check them out - just not my personal favorite. They do have a huge variety of other muffins, many which are vegan / healthier (although I question if vegan actually means they're healthier). The carrot walnut with cream frosting is supposedly also quite popular, as is the pumpkin cinnamon. Too bad they were out of their oatmeal cookies which sounded like are also quite good.

They deliver on creativity, quality, and most importantly, taste. They also created our cake in a short amount of time. Highly recommend.

So I was looking for a Sonic the Hedgehog cake for my son's birthday but I absolutely didn't want fondant. To me fondant doesn't taste good. I have a friend that has been buying cookies for her girls' past birthday parties from this baker and I was impressed so I decided to look up the baker. It was actually these Yelp reviews that help me decide to contact the baker. I contacted her and sent a picture of a cake I wanted. We discussed size, price, flavor option and delivery. On the day of the event the cake looked exactly how I wanted it. I added the cake toppers myself thou. The cake itself was moist and not too sweet. It was just right. Everyone loved it and keep asking for the bakers info. The only problems I had was 1. The cake was delivered late about 20 minutes. But that didn't ruin the party. The other problem was the cake when it was cut open, I realized it wasn't the cake flavor I wanted. The cake was still good. Like I said before everyone loved it, I liked it too taste wise but I was a little disappointed since it wasn't want I was expecting.

I reached out to have a cake made for my sons 6 month photo shoot. I knew I wanted a beautifully decorated cake for the pictures, taste was my second concern. They were able to accommodate my random cake design (I wanted half a cake for his half birthday!) and they were super accommodating even though the request came a couple of days before the event. Here's the best part...the cake tasted amazing! Not only did I get some great pictures, but everyone who tasted the cake complimented it. I will certainly be placing another order shortly!

I was not sure what to expect when I came across this bakery on the internet. It was about a week before my husband's birthday party so I took a chance and contacted this bakery since they were located in the area. The service was great and answered any questions I had. I sent a picture of what I wanted and they created exactly that and even better than I expected. The delivery was as scheduled. Everyone at the Party was in awe at how awesome the cake looked. Once they had their slice every person said it tasted so good and the cake was very moist. My mom is a major critic and she loved it! Lol. Two thumbs up!!! Highly recommend "this chic" !!!!!!

Their cookie dough brownies are probably the best ones I've ever had in my life. They sell them at a local grab and go spot in Bryant Park and lets say I'm happy I'm only in Bryant Park for work purposes, if not I'd have one 7 days a week.
