2nd year we have been coming here in the summer. This place does not disappoint. John the bartender and server works his tail off, remembers who you are and what you like. ??. Wings are great, pizza very good, you canâ??t go wrong here. We love to come for happy hour, bring are cards and visit with our friends. ð??

After reading so many good things about this location I finally made it a point to stop for the Friday fish fry while in the area for business. Almost passed by the small building in this small town but saw the TR logo sign and turned in. First impression was how nice it was inside vs. the outside, the place was jumpin'. Great vibe, music and assortment of high top tables to seat yourself at. You order at bar and the bartender brings out your order when ready. I couldn't decide on a light or dark beer so the beer guide hooked me up with the Irish Breakfast... wow! I had the fish which was battered in their IPA. Big, tender and extra tasty. The fries are excellent and the slaw was not bad either. Another Irish for me and I hit the road full, happy and pleased to report this location is every bit as good as their Canandaiga lake place. (but with a much bigger menu) I was told about the new Geneva brewhouse opening soon so that is on my list as well.

My husband and I have talked about going to Twisted Rail for a long time. We finally decided to go yesterday, Sunday, May 5. Before we left the house, we checked what time they close. One site said 5:00 and their website said 6:00. We got there at 4:00 and all was dark. I even went up to the door and read the sign (can't remember whether it said 5 or 6 for Sunday). The door was locked and no one in site. We were disappointed. Don't trust the website!

We had a Groupon for Twisted Rail and it expired today so after work we hit the road and took the 30 min drive to Macedon. We chose the Macedon location because it has the largest food menu. I like food with my craft brew. It's happens that Wednesday nights is wing night at the Macedon location which turned out to be super awesome news! They were hopping! Many people were slacking and using their Groupons as well but there was also a ton of locals getting in on the weekly wing special. A dozen twisted wings, side of fries and 2 pints of brew for $20. That's a no brainer to this girl! We added a side of macaroni salad that was out of this world amazing. Our Groupon got us each a flight which was 4 selections, a pint glass to take home and $10 towards purchases. It was just the right amount of food for us to share we sat at the bar, there is a variety of high top seating in a small building. The parking lot is interesting and I'd be scared if it was icy out. Bartenders were super nice and attentive even though they were slammed. Large selection of brews as well as some cider and Black Button spirits. If they were closer to home I'd definitely go back for wing night! They also have a good selection of starters, pizza, sandwiches and salads. I'd highly recommend Twisted Rail!

Drove out with the family for lunch. Closed for a private event, also told no food on Sundays. Would have been nice if that was on the website.

Everything is great except the seating. When it gets busy, it gets packed. Needs to be bigger! Other than that definitely recommend.

Stoped in because it looked different and came across a groupon for it.we were welcomed with a helpful bartender who helped show us the ropes as craft beer is new to us.the patrons were friendly, music was low key and enjoyable.the prices were reasonable and we left with a growler and will definitely be back!

Great beer! Nice cozy atmosphere. Not pretentious! Left with a growler of their Irish breakfast!ð?? bartender even met me in the parking lot to give me the $1 sticker I left behind! Great customer service !

Great beers and good food. My wife and I shared a few apps and that was plenty of food for us

Just too much fun. Open mic night. Wish I had courage to sing with them

Great beer, good food. Fish fry was delicious!

Great atmosphere, food was really good and fresh .. Bartenders remember the drink orders from previous week, which is attention to detail , that a lot of bigger business are missing.

Sometimes the service is great. Sometimes awful...regardless off crowd size. Pay attention to the customers, not friends and family. And PLEASE do NOT change yiur baby's diaper on the table. DISGUSTING!

Great chicken wings and variety of beer! Very friendly staff. Good music on the weekend. I would recommend this place!

This is a typical local bar. The food is OK....flatbread pizza is small for the price and the motz sticks have very little cheese, mostly breading. Service was good, friendly staff. The parking lot is not safe. Pitch black after nightfall. There are so many potholes and I literally could not see anything walking out to my car. They need to install lights back there.

We stopped by the Twisted Rail in Macedon for the first time on a Friday evening on our way to Historic Palmyra's Ghost Walk - don't ever do the latter, it's not a way to spend an evening. But the Twisted Rail was a wonderful experience. The stouts were particularly good and much to our surprise, the fish fry was probably one of the best I've had in upstate NY (and inexpensive too). Would highly recommend this tiny little place. We'll definitely be back.

Tristan was by far the best bartender/brewer we've met....we loved him and the beer and the food.

The beers are killer and theyâ??ve got a good spread, although they do seem to run out of a draft every now and then, but I think thatâ??s a comment on the quality of the drinks. The fish fry is also one of the best around. Staff is friendly and quick to help out. I highly recommend the place as a whole.

We've purchased their fish fry's quite a few times, they are somewhat inconsistent at being flavorful and fresh, but when they are good, they're great. Best fish fry around. All businesses (especially restaurants) have good nights and off nights, we keep going back because we understand this. I highly suggest you give their fish fry's a try. One of these nights we're going to try out a few of their brews too.

Great beer... knowledgeable staff... awesome Wednesday wing deal. Tristan and Big John are so friendly and attentive. A new favorite for sure!

Love this place! We are locals to Macedon and Twisted Rail has been one of the best additions to the town in the last couple of years. The guys are great, knowledge on the beer, & food is always great! They mix it up and keep it fesh! Clean & fun atmosphere! Super recommend stopping!

Felissa is the bomb! She's so fun and outgoing and easy to chat with. We brought our group of friends from the Geneva Bark Park in tonight for our first non-dog event. Great time was had by all, and you all were very accommodating. Can't wait to come back.

Love the Spike Driver IPA and pretzel spikes on a cold winter's night. Always a fun night out.

Suzanna Prong

What a creative use for the old Jones Theater! When we went, they had just opened the tasting room and were still working on the setting up equipment on the brewing and restaurant side. But with 17 original brews, Heron Hill wines and Black Button spirits, its totally worth checking out!

Have been visiting Twisted Rail Macedon for about a year or more now. My wife and I have come to love the larger menu of foods they have now. Started off with just bar food appetizer things, to actual sliders, beef on weck, flat bread pizzas, and SPECTACULAR wings. Gotta try the Twisted House sauce!! Up until last night, I never thought about joining a "Mug Club" before but my wife was curious about how it all worked as we had seen several people there with their mugs on the bar. Tristan, behind the bar, explained to us the deal...I am now a Mug Club Member mainly because of the renewal price...50% off initial Member pricing. You get $1.00 off every mug when you order, a free growler for your birthday every year, and what sounds like an amazing Pig Roast in the summer for all Mug Club Members...who drink for free! I'm a big fan of the Spike Driver IPA, but the 50 Shades of Red is also a nice change. My wife likes the wines they have on hand...both the red and white are good she says. She's typically a Chardonnay drinker. The LIVE music on Saturday nights is nice and quaint. Not overwhelmingly loud and obnoxious. Usually the artists play favorites everyone knows. Don't be surprised if you start tapping your foot and singing along.

The beer is really good and they have a good variety of styles. The wings are great. The bartenders are good unless they get occupied with regulars and they forget everyone else.

Made this our destination ride on the Erie Canal Trail from Newark, NY. WOW! So enjoyed every aspect of our time here. We walked in, in our riding clothes, carrying our helmets and water bottles. The first thing the bartender says is "want your water bottles filled?" Which was so helpful, but we also came for the beer! My husband had the Pullman Porter which he said was "out of this world good!" I'm not sure what beer I had - I told him I liked lighter beers and what he chose for me was perfect. Now about the food. Hubby had the Beef on Weck and I had a hamburger. Any restaurant should do a decent job at these, but this food was amazing. Both of us thought our food, including the house made chips, were truly a cut above. Do yourself a favor - make it a point to find this place!

Doug Darling

Always friendly and their beer is good. Solid choice especially if you enjoy IPA. I prefer those with only one or two hop varieties. Price is reasonable. Love the Hell on Wheels! Enjoy every visit at both locations.

Picture this- Saturday night, Main Street in Macedon, inside a tiny bar room you find good food, good beer and a guy with a very impressive beard signing his heart out. That's what we found at the Macedon Twisted Rail. On top of that, Bruce was behind the bar and he led us in a tasting adventure. Not only was he a pure delight he guided us toward some great beers. We tried a few different beers, but as always settled on either side of the IPA trio, I had the session and my girl had the double. Both were well balanced and very drinkable. We preferred both to the regular IPA. We were with family so between 7 people I think we tried every beer. The cherry wheat was a great beer for someone new to crafts or if you're missing the Sam Adams version. We are vegetarian and Bruce let us order off the menu and make a salad with grilled portobellos. We also had the flatbread pizza. Another standout at the table was the house chips. Twisted Rail Macedon is a great little spot and we loved chatting with Bruce. We will be back for sure.
