Food and atmosphere was amazing. 10/10 experience and highly recommended to anyone looking for a nice restaurant in St Lawrence County on a night out.

Met a friend for dinner. We were both super excited for our first visit. We got fries and the Crab Rangoon for appetizers. The crab dip was fantastic (probably the best I’ve ever had), however the wontons were too hard and the everything bagel seasoning on it was too much flavor paired with the dip. We then each got one of their unique rolls. Which I thought were super fun, but not tight enough. Every time I picked one up it fell apart. Our reservation was for 5:00. And while I absolutely understand the workings of a restaurant and how hard it is to move people in and out in a timely manner to keep reservations on time, at 6:00 we were asked to vacate our table. This makes me sad, as I wanted to love this experience and continue to go back to what I think is a very special place for the north country…I just have to work through the sour taste that left in my mouth.

Our first time was fantastic. Met our friends for dinner and met the owners. Wonderful people and aim to please. The entire staff was full of energy and personable. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was warm and comfortable. They have great views and outdoor seating for warmer temperatures. You've gotta go! The town of Madrid is very fortunate to have such a great restaurant. We are going back soon.

Had a lovely anniversary dinner with my wife, the sweet potato appetizer was a perfect balance of umami, sweet, spicy and savory. The arancini was delicately crispy with a creamy center and an aromatic finish that leaves you wanting more. Really looking forward to trying the pickle pizza but we'll save that for another day. Can't wait to plan my next trip out.

Parking: It is a shared lot and fills up quickly. We found a spot on the side street.

The Squash veggie sushi was a 10/10, single handedly best sushi roll I have ever had. The Perch tempura roll was amazing 10/10. The tempura veggies were 10/10 imagine Japanese sweet potato fries and Japanese blooming onion. The Ramen was good and if it had more salt and an option to make it spicier (siracha) would have also been a 10/10. Overall, if you live in St Lawrence County and are not getting a reservation at the Blue House you are missing out on a phenomenal dining experience. Stop what you are doing, cancel your other plans and take someone you love on a culinary adventure to The Blue House.Vegetarian options: The vegetarian options are plentiful and excellent.Kid-friendliness: We had our 6 year old daughter with us and she loved it.

We came back over winter break to visit family from the west coast. What a phenomenal hidden gem in our hometown. The atmosphere was something I could not have imagined for our small hamlet. The service was friendly, and the food especially the sushi rivaled many of the places we had tried on the west coast. The ramen was also yummy especially the noodles, but needed some heat. Especially for a reopening weekend the staff was poised and considerate. Reservations are a must! Madrid doesn’t know how lucky they are… we will be back! Cheers and congratulations to the owners.Vegetarian options: Veggie tempura, miso soup, shataki ramen, veggie pizza options, the list goes on…Kid-friendliness: We brought our six year old and we had a great time introducing her to more than just chicken fingers. She loved the perch sushi!

After this place succumbed to a fire, they rebuilt and came back better than ever! We waited for a long time at their first Friday reopening. Kitchen was backed up and servers were having a hard time keeping up. Not once was there a shred of poor service. After they sold out of the majority of our order, the service continued. We never asked for any sort of comp due to the wait and being sold out of our choices, but they gave us free drinks, made our substitutions, and comped our entire meal for a party of SEVEN!We loved BH#1 and we continue to love BH#2! You guys helped us make memories with friends on several occasions and we can’t wait to see you again! ❤️

We just shared 2 salads and a sushi roll. All 3 dishes were delicious, we can't wait for the grand reopening! I guess we will have to see them at the farmers markets until then.

My husband and I had dinner recently and we had a lovely time. From the friendliness of the staff, the atmosphere, food and just relaxing time we had made it feel like we were wanted & not a number. I have to say that the food tasted the freshest of any restaurants that I have dined at in extremely long time. Our waitress who happened to be the owner's wife, went above and beyond and was so patient with us when we were trying to make our minds up as to what to order. The owner himself, who is the head chef, took time to talk with us after we had our meal and we were leaving for the evening. I definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for a pleasant dining experience and excellent food. I know we will be going back again.***The one thing that could use tweeking is the dessert I had it was a chocolate cake, which was very rich, too sweet for me and needed a scoop of vanilla ice cream. I did try some of their homemade maple walnut ice cream with the cake, but that was too sweet for me. We did take the cake home, bought vanilla ice cream and it was perfectly balanced. I try to personally balance the sweetness in desserts at home, so it was more than I was used to.

On separate occasions my wife and I have had wonderfully delicious brunch and dinner at the Blue House. Their menu is always changing and offers fresh and exciting new choices. The atmosphere is bright and friendly; I can’t say I could name any restaurants with such enthusiasm and camaraderie among the staff. The owners took time to speak with us and treated us as friends, which definitely marks this place in our minds as one to revisit soon and often.

I will start with, I absolutely adore the food at this restaurant as well as the atmosphere. However, I was completely floored about the lack of service I received during my dining experience. I was at a 3-top with a bill around 200 dollars and did not consistently check on our table, but when we were packing our food and I was waiting to hear about dessert she told us we had to leave to make room for another table. I understand that the restaurant is small, nevertheless that is no excuse for not offering dessert and/or asking us kindly to vacate.
