“Found this wonderful place while driving through this week and I love it! Half Dozen Bakery has a scrumptious selection of baked goods and great coffee with friendly service. It is perfectly decorated and is now my go to coffee shop/bakery.”
“We are beyond thrilled with the food that the smokehouse provided for our wedding! We had an amazing meal and received so many compliments! Robin was so easy to work with and make the entire experience so easy! Thank you so much to Robin and your staff for being apart of our wedding and providing the best meal we could have imagined!!!”
“You went above and beyond to make this a special evening. Neither of us had eaten there before. Exceptional service and you added the balloon and banner. He was so surprised and very happy. Ty so much”
“I love hometown diners, and this fits the bill. Nice to see friends gather in groups here. Different menu specials each day. Just wish they were open later into the afternoon.Wheelchair accessibility: Handicapped parking right in front of the building. Doors accommodate wheelchairs. Tables in the center along with booths. Did not use restroom facilities. Did not see Braille menu.”
“Sabad's is a wonderful family restaurant in Norfolk that offers unique items not found anywhere else. It also offers some unique flavors influenced by its Eastern European heritage. We always have a great experience when we make the trip from Ogdensburg.”
“Went on a cute road trip to up-state New York, this venue exemplifies the spirit of hospitality and warmth that I was looking for in this area. As a Texas native, I know good brisket, and the brisket platter here was just as good, if not better, than what I have at home. Such a lovely small-business, with a gleaming atmosphere that is peak Americana.”
“this is where you go in Potsdam to hang with your friends it's like a giant game room!! super fun with friendly employees! so kick back relax and come on down to big shotz !!!”
“Delicious custom made cakes! I have ordered custom birthday cakes multiple times and they have all been so delish and looked great! Very friendly staff and their breakfast and lunch menus sound great, although, I have never tried their food. I plan on it soon though!”
“Awesome little hole in the wall place. Limited hours but totally worth it. I would recommend planning to be there right at opening time. They appear to have music and a food truck on site. The food was awesome, and the beer was great! They had a ton of options on tap as well! Which was surprising. Highly recommend for great beer and a good time.”
“It was a retirement party pizza, salads, meat and cheese plates, chips + salsa much more. Cakes for retiree all really very good. There was no charge.Parking: Not sure didn't check.Kid-friendliness: Couple of families there with children having a good time. Char and John do a great job. Also have a good menu.Wheelchair accessibility: Easy entrance no one there in a wheelchair. Right at the front door.”
“Went to get black Raspberry soft serve in a waffel cone. And I must say the everything was amazing. I hear they have a pickle soft serve, I'm definitely looking forward to trying that next summer”
“Staff was very friendly. They were accommodating when learning how to make my favorite Starbucks drink, which staff on shift that day hadn't made before. It turned out great! I try to stop by there as a treat whenever I travel to Potsdam for my physical therapy. I'm always greated with a smile. Definitely a gem I discovered one day.Parking: This is located at a college campus. So depending on the time of day, whether you are a student, etc. could likely factor into finding a place to park. I am disabled and have yet to experience a problem finding a handicap space.Wheelchair accessibility: The doors are able to open automatically.”
“Overall great experience at JC’s. In town with family for a fishing tournament, looking for something fast and good. JC’s is next door to the ramp. Great food, fast service with a smile. Nice outdoor area to eat. I will be back if I’m ever in the area again.”
“This has been our local go-to place, for many years and counting. When you think of "Hometown Diner/Cafe" what comes to mind is exactly what it is.It is a small, old diner. We go there for good comfort food. I am an adventurous foodie but when it comes to true and tried, all-time favorites - they do not disappoint.Hubby and I get our favorite "angry bird" sandwiches there, which are not on the menu anywhere else in the north country, and of course ice cream. In all my travels domestically and abroad, this is one of the very few places that I would travel extra distance to get ice cream from. As local BNB hosts, we recommend this place to our guests who want a "north country" dining experience. The service is great.Priced very reasonably. There is plenty of parking in the parking lot and along the road if you must. They offer dine-in or will prepare food for take-out.Will continue dining there.Suggested areas of potential improvement.1. Could use some updates with seating, lighting, bathroom, etc.2. I am not sure if the old garage bays next door are owned by the same people but I know a few local artists who could be commissioned to paint colorful mural-style art on those rather unattractive old bays and make the outdoor area more exciting.3. Outdoor tables are awesome, and very convenient, however during the warm season, when not cleaned promptly, which happens frequently, attract yellow jackets, it will keep even nonallergic folks on edge, or the sticky mess gets covered in dust making it harder to wipe with just a napkin. We have used our own cleaning supplies to clean them up in the past but we do not always have those with us in the car. Perhaps wiping them more often and providing customers with a way to wipe their own tables at busy times of the day could make the situation more manageable.4. Feature diner-style art from local north country artists and crafters.”
“We where driving home from a long Sunday drive out celebrating husband birthday.we just happen upon the place. There's a restaurant attached. We where greeted with very friendly staff. Seated immediately. Not a very fancy place. But the food was wonderful I got the Salmon special. It was delicious. Brought half home. Very relaxing . The waitress came often to check on us. She was so sweet.”
“We were a little worried when the parking lot was full, but after a very short wait we got a table. The wait staff was outstanding!! Even though they were super busy, our drinks, then salads arrived quickly. The fish fry was delicious! Reaaonable price. Great date night! Thank you, Eben's Hearth!”
“Although we chose possibly the busiest weekend to visit for our first time, we had an amazing experience. It was parents' week at the local colleges and although the dining rooms were busy, they were not overrun or chaotic; there was always one or two empty tables- which proves the management are knowledgeable about spacing their reservations, and the wait staff were able to be attentive to everyone without being overwhelmed. Our server was incredibly friendly and happy, quick but very attentive and eager to make suggestions and answer questions. The atmosphere is incredibly cozy and eclectic in the main house, and more modern and spacious in the rear dining room where we were seated. We had a lovely view next to the window of the property and gardens. All of the food was exquisite, and very clear that the chef and kitchen staff are well seasoned in fine dining operations. We ordered from every course, and happily took leftovers home.I would encourage the management to invest in an espresso machine for cappuccino etc, but that did not detract from our wonderful visit.Parking: Parking is a gravel lot behind the building, be careful if you are using mobility aids or fancy shoes. Not well lit in the evening.”
“My first time coming here and I will definitely be back. Filling without making you bloated. Full of flavor. Took the recommendation of the staff on my first dish of Thai. Went with the Basil stir fry with pork as the protein and white rice. Great choice. Loved it. Curious to try more of the large menu.Staff was courteous, efficient and helpful. We ate in the small dine in area which was clean and comfortable.”
“We just randomly came across this place while visiting the area and will absolutely be returning. The Lobster House is everything that Red Lobster only wishes they were. So tasty!”
“Dunkin' in Potsdam on Maple street is awesome!! They always have my order done fast and correctly. I very much recommend going here. Although, they are connected directly with Mountain Mart, so if you were looking for a quieter place to eat in, DD on Maple st. is not typically very quiet. They're nice and thoughtful employees, they never fail to put a smile on my face! I enjoy coming to Dunkin' for some coffee and bagel minis DD, you guys are doing awesome! Keep up the great work!”
“Nice classic Italian restaurant. Calamari was so good, big fat rings lightly breaded. Frestly baked loaves of bread for the table, delicious chicken Parm. Only gripe is that they charge $9 for a small side of non homemade pasta and homemade sauce if you want any pasta for your chicken Parm.... That feels a bit extreme.”
“Same every time. But thats why I like them. Only use drive thru up here but its finally a normal wait time for orders and not cars trailing out of the parking lot for some fried yard birds.”
“Everything was amazing! We ordered six items from this week's menu and each dish was unique and exceptional. The service made the evening with our friends just like a special family event.”
