Char Steakhouse and Bar

We were at the restaurant on Sunday evening during Hudson Valley Restaurant Week. We ordered Gorgonzola salad, the filet mignon, and the cheese cake for desert. The dinner and service were excellent. It was a very enjoyable night out.

Char is one of our regular go to for date nights and it does not disappoint. Servers are always attentive. Cocktails are absolutely on target. Good value for a great steak and sides. A neighborhood gem.

Steaks are great here. They cooked everything the way it was ordered. The cocktails are very tasty as well. Nicky is the best waitress you can ask for !

The food is amazing but the staff is the real
Reason to come here i’m not wanting to normally review a restaurant, but I was here for the first time tonight and Eric, Mark and Nikki alongside the rest of the staff that we’re here made this night. Amazing I really can’t thank them enough for their promptness. They’re attentiveness. The food wasn’t another level, but again I can’t stress the fact of how the staff members really made the atmosphere made the ambience all hit right Thank you so much for a great meal. Will definitely be back. Recommend you guys to everyone.

We went to get the prime rib, but unfortunately it is only served on Wednesdays. We ordered off the special's menu, although the regular menu has plenty of delicious options. We got the Veal Chop and Beef Medallions, both were $50.00. Both were good portions. They were very busy, it took a while for us to get our drinks so they service was a bit slow in the beginning, we were told the bar was overwhelmed. However, we were taken very good care of by Jessica our server. Overall, it was a great evening, and we will definitely go back again. If the weather permits definitely sit outside in the back.

The meal was good as always, and I'm always surprised by the huge menu selections. And the nightly specials were also very impressive. Nikki our server was lovely and very attentive. She took great care of us. First thing we noticed that it was very loud in the dining area despite it being 7:30 and not quite half full. Some sound-absorbing area rugs or wall hangings might help. My only real complaint is that there were flies and gnats buzzing around while we were eating, trying to land on our food, and we were constantly shooing them away.

Love this place! The food is amazing and our waitress was on point!

Excellent entree and service. Staff was very attentive and friendly. Prime rib was prepared just right as we ordered. Wedge salad is a favorite of mine and flavorful.

My wife enjoyed the risotto and her panko chicken. I was disappointed with the fried calamari, it was stringy, and my bone-in ribeye steak was thin and dry. For the price charged, I was disappointed.

The server Michael was terrific. Very attentive took all the time to answer questions. The food portions were generous and the food was tasty. Glad we tried out Char and would consider returning.

This restaurant excels on all fronts. The food was excellent, the staff was attentive and friendly, and the place is clean and cozy. If you go on Tuesday night, they have an incredible deal on a 3 course meal. Highly recommend this place!
