This lomo saltado is out of this world. You can taste the smokiness in the sauce and the steak was so juicy and tender. Not the quality you normally find(chewy and veiny). White rice(not reheated or hard) and the delicious green sauce reminded me of a peruvian restaurants in the city that I dont have to go that far to get now. The chef was also very accommodating and a blast to talk to. He owns and cooks there. He only opens up weekends so make sure you get here while he's open. Nice little hidden gem.
I had the fried potatoes with sausage - I believe it was called "salci papa" - the potatoes were cut thick and fried to perfection. They were the most delicious fried potatoes I've ever had and there were little pieces of meat served with it. Very delicious and piping hot and crisp. Put diner french fries to shame. The lomo saltado was also fantastic. I am a stickler for food being served hot and this was hot, with a yummy gravy, sliced beef, purple onions and fried tomatoes on top of fried potatoes. I've never had Peruvian food, and came here after reading reviews about how good it was at El Tronco. I have to say this was a very satisfying and tasty meal. Also had the Inca Kola which was a nice change from Coca Cola. A sweet gem of a place for a hearty meal. The cook was very nice and polite, making sure everything was to our liking.
Kid-friendliness: There were children here having dinner.
My friend and I have been trying a bunch of Peruvian restaurants in the area until he found this gem. Don’t let the convenience store fool you. Just walk to the back and you’ll find the spot. We ordered a ceviche, lomo saltado and pollo saltado. Every dish was delicious. The Ceviche was authentic and the Lomo Saltado was saucy. Their customer service was extremely nice, the chef even came up to our table to ask us how it was. Very nice of him.Thank You for this gem! We will definitely come back again :)
Bestttt authentic Peruvian food ?????? I ordered a pork tamal and lomo saltado. 1000/10 would recommend
This place is such a hidden gem! Don’t let the convenience store in front deter you. The food was amazing and the staff was very friendly. I had the lomo saltado. The beef melted in my mouth, the fries were crispy even though it had a very flavorful sauce and the rice was cooked to perfection. 10/10 would recommend and will definitely be visiting regularly.
A hole in the wall, literally. Restaurant is inside ONeills, straight to the back. Decided to go to this spot based on reviews and they did not disappoint!! We got the chicken saltado and arroz chaufa beef. Amazing taste and well seasoned. 100% recommend! Owners are super friendly and attentive too.
Here is a hidden gem . Tucked away in the back of O'Neill's Country Store is a small but exceptional restaurant named EL TRONCO NY. I recommend it highly.
Awesome lomo saltado!!My wife and I were in the mood for Peruvian food and decided to go here based on the reviews on Google. We couldn’t find it at first and when we checked the address, we found a grocery store. In the back was this restaurant. We both ordered the lomo saltado, and it was the best we ever had. The fries were crispy, and the beef was lean and clean, no fat or grizzle like you often find with lomo. The sauce was addicting and we both cleaned our plates. I hope to try the chicken next time. I spoke to the owner (who was very nice) afterwards and he told me he used to have a restaurant in New Ro. Don’t let the location turn you off. I have a feeling it won’t be at this location for long…
Please go try this place! Firstly, the owners are super nice and attentive. It was a little tricky to find at first but this place is located inside of Oneill's Country Store on Mamaroneck Avenue. I ordered a spicy ceviche and lomo saltado and it was mouth watering! super flavorful and delicious. Can't wait to go back and try something else!
This place is such a gem! The food was so delicious and great portions. We got our food so quick and they were so attentive. Will be back soon!!

Best Lomo Saltado in NY and one of the tops of whole country. Luis (the chef) is passionate and prepares every dish with fresh ingredients, quality spices and the original Peruvian touch. I highly recommend the lomo saltado, ceviche and pollo brasa.
Best Peruvian food in NY. The Lomo Saltado is the best I've ever had(including Lima Peru). The owner/chef is a great guy also!
The food was sooooooo good I highly recommendBest Peruvian spot !!
Wow, the food was so delicious! Hands down one of the best Lomos I ever had!! The staff was very nice and attentive. One of my new favorite spots. Highly recommend!
Absolutely delicious!! We’ve been looking for a Peruvian spot that rivals Pio Pio in NYC and we’ve found it! The chicken, rice, beans, plantains are all amazing…. And the green sauce…. Perfection. I’ve never had Lomo Saltado but after reading other reviews, I ordered it and it was so damn good. Better than the chicken! Would def order from here again! Fingers crossed they start serving yuca fritta. Currently cash only but they’ll take payment via Zelle, but cell service is not great so cash is def easier.
