I ordered 2 ice cream cones and was mistakenly charged $100. Owners have not yet contacted me to resolve this issue. There is an expectation for an immediate response and adjustment!
Ice cream obviously is good, service sucks, workers have huge attitude problems that m sure no one is forcing them to work there so if you don’t want to work there find a different job.
The Managment needs to reconsider the staffing! Been there couple times because I like to give second or third chances and every time-disappointment!! Those young girls behind the counter seems like they’re there as punishment not serving ice creams but rudeness and attitude! Don’t bother asking for extras or substitutions unless you want them to make you regret that the second you ask.
Very disappointed. Spent $29 on cream ice that was cream water. No air conditioning in the store and every door on the freezers were open.
Ice cream and cream ice is very good. But tonight the cream ice was cream water. No air conditioning in store. Super hot in store and all the doors in refrigerators wide open.
This photo must have been a long time ago profiled here. We were there on the 29 July 2025 at around 2p.m. or so. My dear daughter says she wanted Italian ice. Drove a bit but found this place. Looked nice enough. Only flavors of Italian ice being offered was cherry, lemon and I believe chocolate😱. Got the large cup $7.25 plus tax later, my dear daughter said she understands why the place was empty. Got the cherry and lime flavor. Whose bright idea was it to include cherry bits into the ice? The cherry had no flavor, just sugar ice. The girl serving us... Didn't get her name but guessing she was not having a good day. Won't be back..
I was disappointed by how much it cost. I also expected the quality and amount to be better for the price. We went there on sat the 21 at 4 pm. The girl that waited on us was rude and acted like we were bothering her. I would rather drive to Rita's than to feel like we did walking out of there. Ralph, we can do better, I own a business and would never allow employees to treat customers like that.
The ice was great! But the service? Yikes! The employee at the counter was miserable! Had an awful attitude, no smile, and simply nasty! Never going back to that location again!
Review: Ralph’s Famous Ices – Mamaroneck, NY
⭐☆☆☆☆ (because zero stars isn’t an option)
Ah, Ralph’s in Mamaroneck – the local shrine to disappointment, disguised as an ice cream stand. Where else can you be greeted by staff with the warmth of a DMV on a Monday morning? If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to be served by people who make sandpaper seem cuddly, this is your spot.
Let’s talk about the legendary soft serve machine. Or should I say, the alleged soft serve machine? The sign teases you with flavors like pistachio and black raspberry, but don’t get too excited — they haven’t had either one since the Obama administration. It’s basically a museum exhibit at this point: “Soft Serve Machine (Out of Order, Forever).”
Every visit feels like a gamble — will they be open? Will anything be working? Will the staff speak in full sentences or just sigh aggressively when you ask for a sample? The suspense is unbearable.
Sure, the ices are decent when you can get them, but the overall vibe? Like being served dessert in a dystopian wasteland where joy and customer service went to die. Save yourself the drama and just eat frozen disappointment at home. It’s more satisfying.
I went today and the service was amazing while it was very late they still managed to make my sundae with the best effort.

Online hours need to be updated. Hours say 10:30 online - doors locked and the girl shouts through the door we are closed at 10. It was 9:50. Obviously not the workers fault that online is wrong but the two employees we encountered were nothing but rude. One employee said “well online lied to you.” Not very professional.
Kids love this ice cream, but today’s service was extremely slow!
This rating is for the management/owners. I visited this ice cream shop on April 19th, which was a very warm and busy evening. There was only ONE employee in the entire shop working at a furious pace to meet the needs of a long and unending line of customers. She looked exhausted, but managed to maintain polite customer service despite the unreasonable circumstances she was working under. How could she take a break? How could she go to the bathroom? She had to work the register and serve the ice cream entirely on her own, including making complicated sundaes for multiple customers.
Eventually I left because the line was too long and I couldnt bear to watch her endure these unfair working conditions any longer with no assistance or support. I have put up with my fair share of difficult jobs, but put in her position, I would have told everyone the shop was closed and gone home rather than work myself to the bone for management that doesn't value me enough to put proper relief plans in place or step in themselves. Such a shame.
i swear to god there was once a ten year old behind the counter with no supervision and he SKIMPED on my large vanilla soft serve that was a small at best
Best ice cream in the area
