I've been here so many times, from the first to the last, both husband & wife owners, Rosa & Angelo have never ceased to continue to deliver homemade Italian food made with love. Each dish is simply delicious! It breaks my heart to hear of their closing this restaurant. Each time I've wanted to take a client or a friend out for an amazing Italian restaurant, I never had to think more than twice to take them here. I'll miss you both, your love and making everyone feel like you are part of their family. Looking forward to hearing about your new location. What a great find. We’ve driven by here hundreds of times. It looks like a little dump so we never stopped. My friend’s wife wanted to try it so we did. It’s like going to your Aunt Mary’s house for dinner. Uncle John does the wine. Aunt Mary cooks. Here Rosa does the cooking. She comes and works the room tells you what she’s made and will make substitutions if you want. Her husband is the wine guy and he has some nice wines at decent prices. We had a treat their daughter was working and she waited our table. She’s a sweetheart. We shared some apps stuffed mushrooms with some very hot sausage and shaved zucchini pancakes in red sauce both very good. Then there was eggplant parm, pasta and veal. Rosa makes a delicious red sauce. Portions are big, not huge. We were too stuffed for deserts. Prices are average. You don’t have a fast meal here because food is cooked. Rosa talks to everyone. It is really like eating like eating at your aunt’s home. We will return.

I brought a group of friends on Metro North from Connecticut and so glad I did. The owner Rosa and her husband put their heart and soul into this restaurant. This is old school authentic Italian food. If you want fancy overpriced pretentious food this is not the place. However if you seek quality, healthy, fresh and reasonable portions with a sprinkle of personality this is where you go. Rosa walks around and not only explains the menu but tells you about herself and her family. We enjoy her stories and her personal touch as it creates a personalized dining experience. I highly recommend the lasagna, eggplant rollatini, fresh pasta dishes and ricotta cheese cake. My friends are already asking to make plans to return next month.

When I tell you... I have never in all my life had Italian food like this family owned restaurant, I honestly haven't. This has to be one of the best Italian foods I have ever endured. You have to try Rosa's La Scarbitta Ristorante in Mamaroneck, NY across from the train ... first off Rosa cooks all of her own food and uses fresh, healthy, ingredients... she's so kind and very creative. I promise that David and I will personally bring our family and friends to eat there. Excellent excellent excellent... I give 5 stars!
