Food was better than average. The lettuce wrap appetizer was underwhelming. We ordered the steamed sea bass. Though it was fresh and tasty, it was not worth $40 for one small steamed fish. Kathy the owner stops to speak with only certain customers and walked past our table several times without a glance in our direction. Why?

Pearl East is a great place to go for good chinese cuisine. Food is always consistent. Their sushi is good too. The Pink lady roll is awesome. Cocktails are delicious. The Mango martini is my favorite. If you're in Great Neck, NY definitely a must try. Be sure to make reservations if you're going on the weekend. It's always packed. During the week, you are able to get a table quickly. Service on the weekends is a bit slow, but the food makes up for it.

The food at the Pearl was very good, but the service was horrible. We're an African-American family and we waited over ten minutes to see who will be serving our table and the servers will just glance at our table and not approach us. I approach a waiter about the lack of service and immediately he had a certain attitude towards us. Don't go to this establishment!
