Barely any difference between veg meal and fish meal. Only one curry is different. Why charge extra 7$ for that? Fish in the curry was so stale. Also they charge 18% gratuity for party of 4 which is ridiculous. They didn’t even serve us water until we asked for it. They are charging very high prices and the quality doesn’t match. Please skip this restaurant, there are better Indian restaurants out there.
Doesn’t matter whether you order fish, chicken, mutton, or vegetarian — you’ll end up with the same vegetarian meal and a half cup of curry that supposedly makes it “different.” Apparently, changing the sauce is their idea of variety.
And if that’s not enough, they’ll slap you with an automatic 18% gratuity, even if only 3 out of 4 people get served — and the fourth one is fasting and doesn’t even touch a sip of water. Classy move.
If you’re looking to pay premium prices for average food, missing service, and a creativity level that begins and ends with “add curry,” this is your spot. Otherwise, save your money and your appetite.

My first curry in New York found me here as this was rated highly by reviews.
I asked for Indian hot, it was below average, more medium, definitely not Indian hot.
Coconut curry with chicken. Not bad, not great. A bit watery and bland, needed more seasoning.
Onion pakodas, were disappointing. All batter and little onion.
I am critical because I have high standards with curry’s. Perhaps this is considered good in New York. Wouldn’t last long in Brick lane, that’s for certain.
Service was good and the naan bread fine !

The Egg Biryani was absolutely delicious! The rice was perfectly cooked. The boiled eggs were well-marinated and flavorful, and the masala blended beautifully with the basmati rice.

Visited Anjappar restaurant on a mid cloudy day and they welcomed us with hot and yummy food. Dindikul Chicken Biryani and aegg Biryani were spicy and flavourful. One of the best in NYC 😊
