“Top notch Halal 👌 With it's captivating unique flavors, Shwarma Bay stands out from the rest. This is not your typical Halal cart food. This has its own spices and flavor profile. You can taste the spices in the rice. The hot sauce is more of a creamy hot sauce unlike the red spicy 🔥 hot you tend to get from other halal carts. Chicken and beef well made and sauces on point. Shwarma Bay is in its own category”
“Absolutely love this place! 📍 Aws juice & smoothie is the best Fresh juice in the city , affordable prices,
and the same great quality for 5 years. The owner is very kind and easygoing, and he adds ginger, lemon, or any fruit for free. I highly recommend it — try it and you won’t regret it! 🔥🍊”

“Honestly, I’m so glad I found them. The place has such a warm, welcoming vibe; it almost feels like you're being invited into someone’s home for dinner, not just eating at a restaurant. Hands down, some of the best food I’ve had in a long time. If you're craving something comforting, homemade, and a little different from the usual, Nasrin Kitchen is 100% worth a visit.”
“You will not find a better coffee spot in the world. The owners put their heart and soul into making it special. Sote has been my daily coffee spot for over a year, and I love it.”

“I met Sandra at the Asbury Park Vegfest. By the end of day 2 when I went to her booth she was out of collards but she spent 10 minutes explaining to me exactly how to make them her way. Her yams and Mac and Cheese were delicious! She invited me to her Instagram page if I have any more questions! I’m going to ask her how she makes black eyed peas. I love her generosity of spirit!! ❤️❤️❤️”

“This food truck happened to be parked less than a block from the hotel we were staying at and it was after midnight and nearly everything was closed except for the McDonalds and a pizza joint. Hankering for some fresh food, we gave this food truck a try and we were very happy we did. The food was fresh and very delicious! And the prices were much more reasonable than what we found in other Mexican restaurants in midtown. We went back 3 more times during our 10 day stay in NYC. Highly recommended.”

“Great Italian food and a decent menu, not much choice but not too much. It's located next to Post Office 34 and is very trendy. The view and service are great, but it's noisy as there isn't much to absorb the sound. We ordered focaccia, roasted peppers and pasta. Everything is great and super fresh.”

“One of the best Indian restaurants in NYC and a big step up from the sister restaurant Semma. The food here is delicious, satisfying, with decent portions and excellent presentation. The food is great, and it’s a special experience. Staff are friendly, the service is great. The cocktails are presented very nicely, but nothing wowed us. I’m here for the food and the service - and I couldnt be happier with that!”

“was able to snag a reservation easily on a wednesday night. It was exceptional contemporary take on Korean cuisine. perfectly fried monkfish and an incredibly crisp, flavorful fried soft-shell crab. A standout experiential highlight is the DIY scallop gimbap. For the mains, the duck bulgogi was our favorite: umami, savory, and sweet notes, all tied together with a deeply satisfying charred, smoky finish. The bread pudding that is wonderfully delicious without being overly sweet, followed by a gingery shaved ice that provides a sharp, refreshing palate cleanser”

““CHELSEA’S NEXT IT GIRL” I first saw her in the Lobby Bar at the Hotel Chelsea. She passed like a shadow, her movements swift, effortless, elegant. A dancer I later found out. We bonded over a shared Texas background. On my next visit, she was hosting at the front desk of El Quiote, miscast in the darkness of the faithfully restored restaurant. The first “It Girl” was Clara Bow, the American silent film star. Although my research didn’t reveal a connection between Bow and the Chelsea Hotel, the infamous hotel has had its share of “It Girls.” A few from an exhaustive list include — Sarah Bernhardt; Madonna; Edie Sedgwick; Nico; Janis Joplin; Viva; and Gaby Hoffman. “Chelsea It Girls” are far more than pretty faces and sex appeal anointed by an ogling patriarchy. They are dedicated and accomplished women who created their own acclaim. They are activists and leaders such as Elizabeth Gurley Flynn and Storme de Larverie, and pioneers who reached the pinnacle of their craft including Isabella Gardener, Shirley Clarke, Niki de Saint Phalle, Jennie June, and more. In the 1927 film, “IT”, which cemented Clara Bow’s “It Girl” status, the qualities are defined in the silent intertitles. They state, “The possessor of “IT” must be absolutely un-selfconscious, and must have that magnetic ‘sex appeal’ which is irresistible.” In our contemporary gender-fluid society an inquisitive intelligence, un-selfconscious grace, and a dedicated Artistry remain the markers of “It-ism.” After a fraught fifteen-year renovation, the Hotel Chelsea has emerged beautifully restored, yet void of her next “It Girl.” Chelsea summons and anoints her “It Girls,” leaving us to discover them as they blossom. I can't help but believe that 'CHELSEA’S NEXT IT GIRL' has been summoned. Of late, as the maitre d' at the hopping new Cafe Chelsea, she casts her “star power” on Chelsea’s next generation of patrons. Her name is Valerie. I’ve called her Val a few times. I think of Vali Meyers, Chelsea’s Anti-It Girl. Enjoy, DonJon.”
