Driest chicken breast and Alfredo I’ve ever had. It was like chewing on a shoe, and the bartender was extremely rude. Do not recommend this place at all.

While the food was pretty much just ok, it was the atmosphere that was the most off putting. We walked in to complete silence with the patrons staring down our group. We apologized for having a large group but figured it would be ok since we were the only ones there other than a handful at the bar. The bartender was clearly upset which we later learned was also a result of a late employee (who was lovely when he did show up). Regardless, her comments made us uncomfortable at times. As we left, the regulars at the bar were patronizing and we felt very unwelcome. I’m sure it’s a different environment for locals but I’ve never been compelled to write a review like this.

Contrary to the last review, The Lakeside Vista is such a great place to go.
Hands down the best bar/restaurant around.
I’m sure depending on what was ordered, the possibility of something greasy is a possibile.
I wasn’t there when this happened however, whenever I’ve gone to any other restaurant or even a wine tasting at all Wineries you do need a reservation for 8+ in a group.
I also want to address being uncomfortable with the patrons.
Knowing that the SU game was on today, and never feeling uncomfortable with anyone at the bar, there is a possibility that they were riled and talking amongst themselves.
From past experience most tavern patrons do not pay attention to the diners.
On a different note, the best desserts ever!!!

Looked like a cool place. Went there with 10 friends. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by customers at the bar that made us feel uneasy. The bartender was kind of rude and told us we should have called. Might I add there was no one eating dinner except us at the time. Food was greasy and not the best. When we were leaving we got harassed by the customers. Not a fun experience. The late waiter was the best, very friendly guy.

When there last night and when we walked in we got very rude stairs just from the patrons and it didn't rub me very well so that was kind of strike one so then we went over to the inside dining next to the bar area and then our waitress took like 5 minutes to come see us and then she got are drinks and then she didn't come back for another 15 minutes and then we order the cheese curds which I will say were very very good those took about maybe another 15 and then we ordered our food and we were there for a good 35 minutes before our food came out and then my husband's pizza was very burnt and greasy like super greasy to the point where he threw it up and my burger was pink I asked for well done burger The onions were very very overpowering I would say the only good thing that we ate would be the cheese cards in the fries while we were eating and waiting we saw a server and the cook playing around in the kitchen like smacking each other hitting like just playing around and I'm all for family-owned restaurants as long as if you're being professional and then my husband while we were leaving he went to SR waitress something because she had came over and had said if we need anything My husband was in the middle of talking to her and another table had called her over mid conversation she left and went over to the other table then she came back and that's when we were like okay yeah no we're done so then my husband went to the bathroom and when he came out he said the men's bathroom was disgusting it was crawling with bugs had pee stains everywhere and overall just extremely disgusting I don't plan on going back because it is far from us and then just are overall experience just wasn't good.

I have dined there several times and never been we wowed by the food. This time I ordered Calamari; after a few bites we told the server the calamari was so tough that it was inedible. Even after that I was still charged $18 for the dish. Personally, if I do go back it would only be for the view and a burger..

This place was GREAT! It's over an hour away and I would go back today if I could. The service was quick and friendly. The view overlooking Otisco lake was beautiful, even though it was a stormy day. The food was absolutely fantastic! Taste, presentation, size and price were perfect. Highly suggest giving this gem a try.

Prompted by an ad in the Syracuse Eagle Newspaper for a Valentine's Day special prix fixe dinner, we traveled to the Lakeside Vista Restaurant on Otisco Lake. Our meals began with a generous glass of prosecco and a large romaine salad with red onion, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, and croutons. The main course included a grilled skewer of three shrimp and two scallops, a porterhouse steak, a twice baked potato, and asparagus. The shrimp and scallops we're based with a seasoned butter sauce during grilling resulting in a delicious flavor, and the steak was cooked perfectly to order. The twice baked potato included bacon and cheese, and the skin was crispy enough to pick up and eat after finishing its contents. For dessert my wife chose the carrot cake and I had blueberry pie. Both were excellent. A delicious feast for a very reasonable price. Service was excellent and views of the lake unbeatable. We'll be back soon to try their Sunday buffet brunch, and next summer to dine al fresco on their outdoor patios facing the lake.
