Nostalgic ambiance. Great bar area. Breathtaking Hudson views. Awesome service. Delicious food. Had the mussels, 12oz burger with cheese, sautéed onions and mushrooms and a salmon dish - everything was truly mouth watering perfection!
I was somewhat skeptical about this place as the outside and the name did nothing to call my attention, but what a surprise. The inside was clean, nicely lit and we were seated by the windows giving us a few of a waterfall. The waitress was polite and the burgers were the best. I definitely will go back.
I first discovered Racoon Saloon YEARS ago on a weekend drive with my mom. Walking in the door the first time we had no idea what to expect. We were probably just looking for a beer. But walking just a few feet inside we were ASTONISHED by the view and it immediately became one of our most cherished spots upstate. Imagine how thrilled I was during a recent trip to New York to discover that it's STILL here. Still the same breathtaking view and still a great spot for a beer...
