We have visited the Dark Horse Tavern in Massapequa Park several times for dinner. The food is delicious. We have ordered many of their food items from appetizers, burgers, sandwiches, wings to desserts and it is always fresh and delicious. It has always been an amazing experience from food and drinks to the wait staff. We recently had our soon to be daughter-in-law’s bridal shower there and again they did not disappoint. We decided on a brunch shower which had a variety of food options and drinks to choose from. Victoria and Nicole worked so hard from the set-up, service and clean up and we really appreciate all their hard work. Highly recommend for lunch, dinner or any type of party. Thank you again!

My friends and I stopped on a Sat. afternoon to watch the SJU basketball game and get some lunch. I was greeted by a young man with a beard,(sorry I didn't get anyone's name),he was very welcoming,offering a selection of seats. We chose to set at the bar to watch the game, again wecwere greeted by an adorable bartender who was also very friendly and patient while we made out beer selections she also helped us with your lunch orders. The good was very good and plentyful.
We had a very enjoyable afternoon. And this might become.our town tavern.

Our waitress was amazing. However the cook diffrent story. The food was cold and raw. They had soup on the menu but they didnt have none. Mind you we got there at 12. The drinks were weak and water down. We tried ordering another items but it still came back raw and cold. Our waitress tried everything to make it right. However the manager should have came to our table to address our issues. We are all wives of police officers and our first time here.
The manger should had definetly came to make it right. We could have recommended to all our police friends especially that you have many locations.

Asked for my drink and bartender served everyone else before me. Even if they ask for the drink after me,

Ugh… Why do I keep giving this place another chance?! Every time I come here, I regret it and can’t wait to leave. Warm beer. Watered down drinks. Crappy service. And the bouncer is so rude and disrespectful. Such a chip on his shoulder for a guy checking ID’s at a crappy dive bar in Massapequa. Relax dude. You’re not at a pretentious lounge in NYC. So many better places to go in the area. Don’t waste you’re time or money.

She was enthusiastic and her recommendations were very helpful. I really appreciated her sweetness and patience with my younger sister. I had the California wrap and my little sister had the kids chicken tenders and we both enjoyed our meals. There are various side options other than fries which was very nice. They also have a great selection of beer on tap. If you’re looking for a restaurant with a casual atmosphere and a variety of food options, this is the perfect place to go!

Kid-friendliness: The server was very nice to my little sister. Although it is a bar they are very sweet to everyone who walks in.

Our bartender Christian was amazing. He actually repaired the relationship between my ex husband and I, we’re getting remarried next month. Beautiful man with a beautiful personality and the drinks weren’t so bad either
