It was a Friday evening. The place was busy but not crammed to capacity. We were seated within minutes. Their menu is very extensive, so it took a while to decide what to get. I ended up getting ship quesadilla. Hardly any seasoning - if any. The server was great - he was attentive and polite. There was a live musician and he was amazing! I would return.

If you want to have an amazing burger...then I highly recommend going to Dark Horse MP in Massapequa Park. Probably the best burger I've eaten in a restaurant in at least 5 years...ordered it medium rare and it was cooked to perfection.

The espresso martini was very good and creamy, but not too strong. Nice draft beer selection.The wings were good so we ordered more food. The rest of the food was below average at best. The nachos were fast food quality; completely soggy by the end. A few olives had pits in them. The French onion burger was bland and lacked any flavor.Come here for some drinks and live music, not for the food.

I wasn't sure what to order. First I got fries for my son that he wouldn't touch so other people ate them. Than I asked for pretzel bites for my son which he didn't touch either so I ate some and my sister's husband's friend across the table ate some too. I got the stuffed brie pretzel bites. Not enough brie cheese and the fig jam dip was too watery for my liking. I had the empanadas as well and they were a little bit on the dry side. So I wasn't so impressed with Dark Horse Tavern and I don't know if I'd be willing to come back so quickly. The server was amazing though, handled a big party of people pretty well and pretty quickly.

Nice place, but it's a young kids' place on the weekends at night. Expect a lot of young adults cursing and throwing up because they drink too much.

Dark Horse is a chain but this is my favorite location. It's a small location so I'd recommend reservations on the weekend. But during the week you should be able to get a seat. Food is basic pubfare and they do everything well. Burgers, wings, sandwiches, etc. There is a decent craft beer menu too. The servers are nice and helpful. Price point is relatively inexpensive too

Got carded twice even though I am 25 years old. Both bartender and bouncer gave me attitude and nearly broke my ID trying to bend it. They claimed that “scanning ID’s does not work”. In the end I was not served and left after very poor treatment. The best decision you can make is to skip this crummy dive and hit up the Tap Room across the street.

If you’re in your mid-20s and want to have a good time; do NOT come here. Who knows, maybe it’s the fact they don’t know other states exist. I get it, geography is hard. Though, can’t tell if I should or should not be upset considering they thought I (a 24F) looked younger than 21 years old.
