I love the food here, but there is room for improvement. They upgraded their register a while ago, but many employees are still struggling to use it. This results in very slow service. I also didn't like that the man who can in after me walked to the side of the counter and was able to skip the line because he knew the employees. At first I thought he was an employee or vendor, but he wasn't.

Was down here buying stuff at Infinity Records, had researched this deli on here and read good things about it, so ambled in after record shopping, literally a minute walk down the way. This deli is on its own corner in Massapequa, parking on street, but at least it's not metered. I'm giving them 5 stars because the food here was phenomenal, a total old school LI deli in every way, no frills, but the chicken cutlet sandwich I ordered was on point completely. No junky quality ingredients, prepared to my order, and the prices were ok. There are a lot of terrible delis on LI nowadays, very sad to see that happen, but Neighbor's is clearly a totally reliable one. The quality is there, unlike many nowasdays. I went to one deli in Westbury the other day and the quality was pretty poor, and they were microwaving stuff. Not acceptable. This won't happen here. Plus they had the AC blasting just right during a 90 F. day. Add it all up and it earns 5 stars which is a rarity from me.

I have had the zinger on a garlic hero twice now. Wow. It has always been a favorite of mine to add some pepperoni to any sandwich for some kick and flavor. This comes with it. I really need to try the cheesesteak and the jet. This is a hidden gem that i was reluctant to post a 5 star review because I would like to keep it under wraps but credit is due when it is due. The staff is so personable and friendly which adds so much more to this. Good food. Good friendly service. Ill be back for the cheesesteak, breakfast, roast beef, and my fave the zinger. I hate to say this- but this place is absolutely terrible. Been there 5 times and the next time they get my order right will be the first. Shouldn't be hard to make a roast beef with swiss and actually make a sub with cheese... but they're 0-5. The incompetence is actually stunning. I'd rather go to Subway ?

Neighbors Deli is the BEST around! The food is always fresh and delicious and the owners and employees are always friendly and accommodating! We have been customers for 30 years but today was exceptional!I went in while they were closing for the day (didn’t realize the time) with my dad who has been sick and he was craving some of their delicious soup. Chris and another lovely lady opened everything back up and made a tomato rice soup and delicious roast beef sandwich for us. They were so nice and my dad was thrilled! He said “This is why I love coming here, they make me feel like family!”You can’t where go wrong with a trip to Neighbors Deli!! Thanks for being the best!

I wish I could give them 6 stats. Great food, great people and great sandwiches. We have been going there for years and never disappointed. Best potato salads, and the Cole slaw is terrific. My son and I get.something everyday and with Uber Eats it is easy.....thank you Neighbors Deli.
