A true neighborhood bar minutes from the marina. Pool table, darts and a little backyard patio. It feels like hanging in a family rec-room, down to earth, and can get spirited like when the uncle says something to the brother in law kind of family bbq moment after a few beers but that's how it should be, we talk and share our differences with respect and a bucket of beers...and be genuinely neighborly. Love the mystery dollar story and the retro nautical art.
Sand Bar is a place to relax and have a couple of cold beers. Yes, it is a dive bar but a nice one at that. Jukebox, pool, darts, and bowling game, but minus the shady customers that you'll meet at dive bars, it's a very safe place. The bartenders are pleasant and always enjoy a nice conversation. I had the pleasure of knowing the family that owns and works at the Sand Bar, a very nice family that I enjoyed having a few laughs with. Kathy and I would visit Bob Condrik when he owned it. The atmosphere was like a pirates den and might get kidnapped to work on Black Beard the pirates boat. Falling off the bar stool was fun. We were drunken female sailors. Lol before DWI laws. Drinking age 18.
