I’ve passed by this place many times and never gave it the time of day nor did I know it was this good! They have a pre-made menu with a lot of pizza choices to choose from, but no slices only pies. Freshly made with a wood stove in about 8 minutes, that wood stove definitely adds a unique flavor. I’ve had plenty of places in Brooklyn such as L&B’s (famous pizza spot) but Pizza Rita is definitely up on my list for best pizzerias especially in mattituck. A little pricey but it’s well worth it. I recommend giving them a try and see for yourself. Good atmosphere with a very kind owner.

This place is just awesome!!!! The pizza is beautiful and tastes delicious! The guy behind the counter is sweaty and always looks tired but his pizza speaks for him!!! He is proud and an artist! I only make it out here a few times a year but I ALWAYS STOP TO EAT HERE!!!! I wish I could eat his pizza in Queens!!

Tucked in a strip center is the most delicious pizza made in a wood burning oven. We had the Camolo and the Margherite. My daughter said it was the best pizza she's ever had (and she eats a lot of pizza!). She wants to make it a tradition to stop whenever we go out east. Ha! The crust is soft and pillowy (not thick and doughy), but a little crunchy where it has been cooked by the fire. Mmmm so so good! We chatted with the owner who is really nice and a trained chef. Be sure to check their weekly schedule which is subject to change if he's working an event.

This place has the BEST pizza. They don't do slices, just whole pies but they are smaller; perfect for 2 people. Made fresh and done in 10 minutes and TOTALLY worth it.

The pizza at this place is awesome but the way you're treated when you're there makes it impossible to go back. It's like I'm offending them by trying to buy their pizza. Tonight I came in 2 hours before they're are supposed to be closing and they were out of a few things. No problem, not a big deal. When I asked what they were out of, to make it easier to order, the guy was all upset and seemingly pissed, as if I should know what they sold out of. By the time I got a chance to order they were out of dough all together. It takes no effort at all to just be pleasant to people, especially when I'm trying to give you my money.

Pizza Rita is absolute perfection. The food is unbeatable and Jeff is a one man show and hardest worker. Sure it can be frustrating when your favorite pizzeria is closed to do private events but it's summertime on Long Island, the east end is booming and he is one person doing all of this. It's also always a win when a small business is a success, especially when the food is incredible and the owner is a genuinely great person. Forever customer. There's other wood fired pizzerias but there's a reason Pizza Rita is repeatedly noted as the best. It is.

My husband and I found this online today searching for a pizza place in or around Mattituck. What a pleasant surprise. We are extremely fussy about our pizza and this place was outstanding. Pizza was yummy and the owner couldn't have been nicer!! We will definitely return when visiting friends in Mattituck.
