Guess I will not be coming back because the only thing I liked on the menu was taken off. Please consider adding it back to the menu.

I ordered the lunch special at Greek Cove 2261 Merrick Rd, Merrick, NY 11566, which consisted of seasoned ground beef and lamb, served with Greek salad, pita bread, tzatziki sauce, and rice. While the meal initially seemed delicious, I unfortunately became seriously ill shortly after consuming it. I was struck with severe stomach issues, including nausea, vomiting, and stomach cramps, which lasted for four days. I eventually sought medical attention, and after careful evaluation, I was diagnosed with a stomach virus.
I am not certain what exactly in the meal caused the illness, but I feel that something in the food I consumed that day may have been the source. Given that I had no other unusual food or drink that day, I wanted to bring this matter to your attention so that you can investigate the preparation and handling of the meal. It’s crucial for your restaurant to ensure that food safety standards are being strictly followed to avoid causing harm to future customers.

Unusual for me, but I’m not starting with the food in this review. The people that own and work here are among the nicest humans you ever hope to meet anywhere.
I pick up often because it is good, fresh, food served by great people. I winning combination that you don’t find often today.
The chicken Giro is my go to order. I ask for the chicken to be grilled after is cut off and it adds extra flavor and crispness to the chicken. It’s the best chicken giro I’ve ever had anywhere by a wide margin. My wife gets the Greek salad with a side I chicken giro meat.
I have also had their honey bbq wings and they are great.
I’m sure the rest of the menu is great it’s just that I have a bad habit of finding something I like and just running with that over and over.

Greek Cove Merrick’s lunch special is incredible. Ate the warm pita in the car on the way home! Grilled chicken with a salad and rice. One huge chicken cutlet over a generous portion of delicious rice and a tasty Greek salad- with a grape leaf and feta!
I am a very picky eater but this chix was seasoned beautifully, so that if garlic, onion or rosemary(my triple threat) was used, it all blended together perfectly so that even I could not pick out the offensive spice. Amazingly, the yogurt sauce is also tasty( I hate yogurt sauce;usually throw it away). Forgot to tell them not to give it to me, so as not to waste it, but I’m glad I forgot!
All of this, and a lot of smiling happy employees, for $12.99 cash. Wowza.
