As always, an enjoyable meal in a classic Trattoria setting with excellent food, excellent service, and a truly amazing value for my money.Homemade everything from the Pizza oven feet away from my table to savory dishes sautéed to perfection to the dessert items that end your experience on a sweet note. Thanks to La Strada for giving my family their restaurant family's distinctive touch.

I haven't ate at the restaurant, I've only done pizza take-out, so that is what I'm basing this review on. Ordering was easy, just call and pick it up 35 minutes later. There's a huge parking lot behind the building, so parking isn't an issue. It's apparent that this is a higher-quality pizza, from ingredients to execution. It's almost on the artisanal side and it eats a little heavy, but I find it to be pretty good. I'd say it's above average Long Island pizza and if someone were to say it's their favorite pizza I'd respect it. The pizza's come well done, no need to specify that when ordering. There's good char, good crisp, and the dough maintains a slight bite. The ingredients are quality. There's really not much more to say about it. I'd give it a strong 7.9-8.1 out of 10. Pictures below are the regular, white, and meatball/ricotta pies. The meatball ricotta was my favorite, with my least favorite being their white. That doesn't mean the white was bad though! If I'm ever in the area I would get this again and I'm glad I stopped by to try it.

My husband has always been a fan of this establishment, after yesterday, no more. Yesterday my family and I went out for a causal dinner. The website states that there is an early bird special that ends at 6. When we inquired about it the waitress stated that this was only offered before COVID, they no longer offer it...so why is it still on the website, they should remove it if it is no longer being offered, false advertising if you ask me. In so far as the service, it was lackluster at best. It wasn't busy (maybe six other tables) and we had to get the waitresses attention several times. The waitress was not very friendly, but the busboy was. My husband asked for his favorite, a meatball hero, and was told that they didn't have the bread to make it and that it was only a "lunch" item. They definitely had the bread as it was on the table and they definitely had meatballs...so my husband ordered a side of meatballs and made his own. My husband is also in the service industry and and he bends over backwards to make his patrons happy and satisfied. Why couldn't they accommodate his request? The overall dining experience left us very unhappy, we typically order dessert and coffee but we decided to go to Crumble instead. LaStrada is not what it used to be and sadly we won't be back. Merrick has so many other better restaurants to chose from.

The food was very good. We had a reservation and were seated promptly. The only issue we had was when paying the server did not bring the change. We sat and waited for ten minutes and he was serving other tables and not returning with the change. It was very uncomfortable to have to waive him over and askfor the change. We gave $100 for a $70 meal. We planned on tipping nicely but not $30. It appeared to be done intentionally by the server. That made the experience very uncomfortable. He was friendly but this was not a great experience.
