They say they have strict guidelines, but it’s bullshit. I wouldn’t have gotten sick from it, coming from a Chef for nine years of a local Italian restaurant! Don’t get fooled guys or you will end up in the hospital like me for two days at Mount Sinai Oceanside… THE TRUTH HURTS 💩💩💩💩💩 Time to call the Health Department

I was at The Pitstop in Merrick on Sunday November 09, 2025. The food was very excellent, but the 2 girls working there made me want to throw up. They are the rudest evil people that could ever work anywhere. Even though the food was so good I can never return there. Those nasty girls left a bad taste in my mouth!!!!!

After church on Sunday we decided to go to The Pit Stop, it was our First time here and we won’t be going back . Food was good but the counter staff were not friendly at all . They seemed mad to be having to take my order .

I wanted to write about the experience I just had today at pit stop. I come here often for lunch. I ordered the lunch special and paid for it. I got a wrap and forgot to add dressing to my order. So I said can I just get dressing on the side and she said yes. I went go get my order and the lady with the blonde , short hair said “that will be an extra dollar for the dressing”. I said I come here often and I never ever had to pay for dressing. I then asked if I put the dressing on the wrap would that be an extra charge , she said no. So I was very confused because it’s the same thing. She had a disgusting attitude. And said “enjoy your lunch forget it” then the other lady working there said “she gets things for free”. I was shocked by how nasty they were as I’m a frequent customer and so is my family. Myself or my family will not be coming here ever again. Terrible attitude and experience. Be kind !!!!

I seen The Pit Stop on Diners Drives and Dives and had to try it out. I tried the Cuban Sandwich as a combo meal with clam chowder and both were phenomenal. The clam chowder was one of the best I have ever had. My girlfriend had the spaghetti squash and she killed the whole plate, she said it was really good. Our friend had one of their specials, the lobster roll combo meal with sweet potato fries and she also said her food was all around delicious. Not only was the food great but the staff is very friendly and the dining area is very clean. If you are in the area I highly recommend checking out the Pit Stop!

This restaurant is a true hidden gem. The variety they offer on their menu is truly remarkable. Feeding a family with various preferences was extremely simple at this establishment. Then the food arrives, which was so incredibly fresh, great tasting and plentiful. Lastly, but certainly not the least, was the people. Extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful. Thank you “The Pit Stop” for a wonderful dinner experience!
