Let's set aside that this place used to be Jugs and Strokers. Focusing on what it is now is hard. I was there on a Friday where it appeared to be goth night, and they're were bikers (maybe a Juggs left over). In the daytime this bar is dead. At night it takes on a strange life. Bartenders were nice, drinks were quick and extremely fairly priced. Clientele is so mixed, it's almost as if at a certain time this place changes entirely. I like how big it is and the general flow. They should consider the ability to throw private parties there, as it would actually be a decent venue for one. I'd go back after 10pm for some fun.

This place is my favorite bar..There's not to many places on the island that I can go in and not have every thing I look for in a perfect bar, except Suite 1828...It by far is my favorite hangout spot ..The music is always great, the food , bartenders / staff , and the owner is a really good person who actually cares about his clientele and the bar ...If never seen a fight there , I don't see strung out junkies lingering around parking lot , or your local ghetto street hustlers there either...The food is awesome as well, and they have great bartenders who make good drinks...If you haven't been here then I highly recommend you check it out...Any night of week there has always been a fun time :)

Every Friday is "SUBCULTURE" Long Island's Only New Wave Dance Club.. DJ Cody mixing the best of 80's New Wave and Classic Alternative all night.. (just like the MALIBU, SPIZE, 007 and Luxe days) Great drinks mixed by Tara and cynthia, your bartenders. Great drink specials and a complimentary coffee and dessert bar.. The owner Greg is an awesome guy who really cares about the clientele.. it's like an awesome 80's reunion every week.. Great place to celebrate your birthday too.. Party starts at 9pm. Come on down and check it out!!! and every Saturday night is amazing Live Bands...

Sweet 1828 formerly known as jugs instructors is definitely a top spot in Marek or wherever it is considered to be the Place has the most amazing atmosphere inside for lounging beautifully decorated very cosy and comfortable with a touch of class. The food is top-notch high quality presentation is professional and enticing. The burgers are incredible the wings are the best I've ever had and the customer service here which is so important to any business is definitely paramount. Prices are very reasonable, make sure you check out this place if you're ever on sunrise highway or in Marek they feature a great live music most weekend nights Fridays and Saturdays always and occasionally some other nights with an open mike night on Wednesday is great owner and staff definitely a place to call home

I will be kind and give two stars. I used to go here when it was nice and called The Apartment in the late 70's. I walk in to hear the band and am asked for $10 by a wise guy with his baseball hat turned around backwards. They have two barmaids one is covered in tattoos. The place reminds me of a Brooklyn sleaze bar. I would not dare try the food. Had one drink and left. The band was good. Too bad since the joint has potential.

Went there 7/19/15 to meet up with friends after a breast cancer run. "Security" waved me off and said I couldn't park close to the bar even though the street was empty. Thanks to that I had my tools stolen off my bike! I don't know who belonged to the bar and who belonged to the "run" but thanks to their "organizing skills" I couldn't park within site of the bar and it cost me $300. In all my years of riding I've never seen anything more disorganized and half-assed!

This is my favorite place to hang out. The people are nice and the owner is the nicest man you will ever meet and the workers are awesome to. I love the atmosphere it makes you feel comfortable . The entertainment is always great and the food is good to. I always have a great time when I go there. Everyone I know who goes there always has a good time to. Went here around 9pm on a snowy night, looking for something to do locally. Wasn't expecting anything amazing but still had a good time despite the limited attendance ( Ill give them the benefit of the doubt because it was a snowy tuesday). Sang a couple of songs for the Tuesday night Karaoke which is free to participate in, had a good song selection. Didnt order anything exotic but the bar looked well stocked. Crowd was older, but all the people in attendance were warm welcoming and friendly so I must admit I had an awesome time and if it wasnt for that i wouldve saluted and about faced in the doorway back to my ride. The venue is dimly lit and spacious decor was lovely with 1 electric fireplace and 1 live fireplace hidden in the back with a couple couches perfect place to sit and catch up with friends or read a nice book. There are a few tvs for catching the game, a jukebox as well as a billiards table to keep you entertained. Bring cash as they don''t take cards but there is an ATM available. Parking is available on the side, in front of a nice billboard displaying the upcoming events. I guess theyre animal friendly as there was a well-sized 4legged friend making his rounds throughout the night. Judging by his sway he may have had one too many. Would come back if I was in the area with a group, not exactly the place to go if youre on the younger side and looking for a wild night or to meet people your age.
