I ordered an Arthur salad which was very disappointing. The chicken wasn’t seasoned and the prociutto was piled on in a big lump. The dressing mostly oil and very little vinegar. The oil tasted old and the rest of the salad tasted like it had no fresh ingredients. The other order was a side order of breaded chicken which also tasted like the oil was bad. Sorry but I won’t be ordering again from this place. I used to love it and now it seems like it went down hill.

Have you taken a look at these reviews and wonder why the ratings are all over the place? Well, here’s my experience. When the food is good, it’s good when it’s bad, it’s really bad.

This has been my go to pizzeria since I moved to Middletown in 2011. For the first few years, I would’ve given it a five star rating. The pizza was always so good, the staff was very friendly and it was an overall great place to go. Over the last five years however, it’s been either hit or miss. Sometimes, I order a slice and it’s the best slice of pizza I’ve ever had and at other times, I’ve received greasy, burnt pizza with the cheese sliding right off and an inconsistent dough. Either that or they serve you a slice that has obviously been sitting around for a long time. The calzones don’t get fully cooked on the inside and it’s just a nasty doughy mess. And when I order a beef patty with cheese, which is my favorite food item, I have to hope and pray that they don’t burn the bottom which is usually 7 out of 10 times.

I just started experimenting with their entrees and the lasagna is kind of bland but it’ll do if you’re really hungry. I must say it is a very large portion though. My husband seems to love the chicken parm hero on garlic bread but says the pasta dishes leave much to be desired. My husband doesn’t eat pork and in one particular pasta dish that we ordered, it had bacon even though it wasn’t mentioned as part of the ingredients on the menu. I can’t remember which dish it was exactly at this moment but I knew for a fact that that dish is almost never made with bacon unless requested.

Other dishes have had the same hit or miss experience but as far as the pizza, I don’t know if there’s two different people who prepare it or what, but for the life of me, I can’t understand why sometimes the pizza is so good and at other times it is so horrible. I only continue to go there, hoping that it will be a good day for them because of the convenient to home location.

In my opinion, for a better tasting pizza with consistent quality and flavor, you should definitely try Brother Bruno’s.

On another note, why are merchants, including Bada Bing, passing on the credit card charges to the consumers. They were the ones that contracted with the credit card companies so they could receive a service and they were the ones that agreed to the charges so why are they being passed on to us. Not very fair. If we were the ones intended to pay the additional fees, then wouldn’t the credit card companies charge us directly? Just food for thought.

TLDR: In summary this place is a hit or miss hopefully you get a hit. When it’s good, it’s good, but when it’s bad, it’s really bad. Good luck. If you require nothing but excellence in your pizza and a nice friendly environment, try Brother Bruno’s instead.

I ordered eggplant parm and it tasted old and stale. I dont even know how that’s possible. And the eggplant was cut so thin, I feel like i are mostly breadcrumbs. I barely ate it only ate 1/4.

I also ordered penne with marinara. The sauce didn’t really have much taste to it. Usually pasta and sauce is a nice comfort food. Not this one.

The pizza was ok.

Why do people leave 1 stars ?
It's crust, sauce, cheese, and spices. I give 100 stars. Stop complaining, and learn to make your own pizza, and see how much it costs. Next customer

If I could give this place less than 1 star I would. The customer service is horrible. I ordered 2 pies and wings. My order total came up to over $100.00 and I asked why is it $100.00 ? I asked for a price break down or receipt the man refused to show me an receipt. He tried to tax me $40.00 and told me to take 1 box of pizza. I will never order from here again very, rude and thats not how you treat customers. I walked out !
