My wife and I came in to have a drink and her drink was shaken when it wasn’t suppose to be my drink was easy to make. Then I paid cash for the 2 drinks my receipt has a service charge of $3.15. When asked the bartender what that was for we were told for a tip. So they add 15% to our bill for their tip. So every time we order a drink we pay 15% extra that’s not right.

To much new staff that doesn’t know what good customer service means. I had to send back my food and drink. I left hungry and went to Don julios. Ps I won’t be back here

Damn! Where to begin? It takes a lot for me to write reviews. My husband and I came here on a Friday. The food was disgusting! Don’t get the steak! It was so chewy we left way more than half on our plates. If I wanted to chew on something for long I could have chew on gum. It also tasted really really old. Hardly came with onions or any sauce. The rice had a distinct flavor too. My 5 year old could have probably seasoned it better. The tostones were good. The pastelitos almost made me cry. Change the oil people!!!!!! We left almost all of it too. The reason we ate some was because we waited all day to eat some delicious Spanish food so we were starving. What a disappointment! Mediocre food at its best. I didn’t complain while over there because I’m not trusting them with my food. You can tell there was no care or effort put into cooking it. Drinks are given in small plastic cups. My husband said the hookah was bad. I keep trying to give this place chances after changes being that we are so limited with these sort of places in Middletown. I’ll probably go if I like an artist who’s performing but definitely not to eat. I wasn’t going to write a review being that I come from a family with MULTIPLE successful businesses and felt bad doing so but the fact that they threw every single paying customer out by 11pm because they were having 2 artists (you probably won’t even know who they are but ok) and wanted to collect entry fee was mind blowing! Wow this is bad business and embarrassing for this money hungry business. We weren’t complaining about the drinks. Maybe we would have bought a bottle and kept drinking. Or just keep ordering drinks! Which is what we always do. We don’t look at prices. Music and service were good. After paying close to $200 they kicked everyone out! They definitely lost way more than the $25 dollars they were charging at the door ? how sad of an establishment. Someone teach these people how to run business. Also you’re not supposed to charge a service fee on the bill when it’s only 2 people ? the waitress would have gotten way more from us because she was really good but this frustrated us and we refused to continue spending money in a business who doesn’t value their customers.

I had the empanadas and they were excellent. The bartender definitely needed a ton of training. I had a blue moon and no napkin or coaster was even given and there was no orange that should have came with this beer. There is a shot called the wet pu@$y shot. The bartender had no idea what was in it and had to ask a lady that I can only assume was the owner or manager what it was. The lady wasn’t very friendly, however I’d try this place again just because the food seemed very well prepared. Been trying to find a good Spanish place to eat and this seemed like a good spot. Will definitely be back. All I can say is work on some training for service. The bartender never came back to see if I needed anything and was too busy eating her food on the other side of the bar where three other people were. A little more interaction and I probably would have stayed longer. I speak fluent Spanish too yet they both didn’t seem like they wanted to even bother with a potential paying customer.

The food here is delicious. The churrasco with the rice and beans delicious cold beer. The one big problem with this place is that they charge you. Fifteen percent service charge. Which is definitely not fair? Because the servers deserve more when they do get service, and if they don't Give you good service. And they don't deserve anything so charging. Somebody up front for something like that is not right and leaves a really bad taste in my mouth. Sad parties. I probably won't be visiting this place again. Since I notice that they've been charging me the fifteen percent service fee. Great food at least the steak and beans. And rice are very good. Very sad. Cause the guy that served me deserve double. What a service charge was

We have not had a problem at JZ ever until tonight. We have been there several times, and never had an issue with my bill. Tonight there was a mix up and Carlos was extremely nasty even after the person explained their part in mix up.. l will never return to this place. There are not many places in Middletown to go, guaranteed this will not be the place we go to, even if there is no other place to go.
