I was very disappointed when i discovered that their closed. I loved the food, drinks, and service. Also they made egg nog pancakes that was delicious. I hope they reopen.

I've tried this place 4 times. I really wanted to like it. The first two times I was pleased. The second and third times not so much. The third time the cook was two hours late. Ordered the smothered chicken which was ice cold...which tells me it was from the previous days food and they tried to reheat it. The final time ordered crab cakes that were previously frozen and more breading than crab.

I hadn't been to the restaurant as of yet. And I plan on attending. After reading the reviews. I aspecting poor services and nasty customer services. But I like give a soul food restaurant an opportunity it has the clientele in the area. All they have to do is put their ego aside and perform. Judging from the owner response the review she's not there yet. And the complaint about the prices is always a problem in soul food restaurants. I hope they change their attitudes and prices. Or else back to the Mexican and Chinese restaurants where the prices are fare and customer services is professional. And they value the customer. I don't see Bee's lasting long in the future. High prices poor customers services is enough to sink any restaurant

This place has potential. I was visiting Middletown for the weekend. Walking in, the place smelled smokey--like cigarettes, not smokey food. That made me nauseous. The floor was sticky, and my shoes were sticky, leaving the place. The place was very dark; I like seeing what I eat. We could only view the menu online; I want a hard copy menu when I visit a restaurant. I don't like to use my phone. They were going to close for renovation, and their menu was limited, but the hostesses didn't tell us this. We were already seated and received our drinks; otherwise, I would have left. The portions of food were large. My friends and I ordered lobster mac & cheese, chicken & waffles (only wings because the menu was limited), mashed potatoes, mac & cheese, greens, sauteed spinach, green beans, and potato salad. The food was just okay. I expect soul food to be very flavorful. To me, it tasted like Boston Market. My friend said the food tasted like her mom's cooking, but I wouldn't pay for that. I felt nauseous and was still hungry at the end of the night, and I bought myself something to eat from somewhere else. Lastly, my friend bought a banana pudding to take home, and there were no bananas in it!Parking: Free 4-hour limit public parking lot.

To put it briefly — please give this place a try! My mom, my best friend and I tried this place for the first time, and we enjoyed! The food (especially, the macaroni and cheese, potato salad, and yams) was DELICIOUS! The food was served hot. It was flavorful. The service was good, no issues there. Just overall, it was a pleasant experience and I will be back!

I came to this establishment multiple times and I never get a warm welcome. They will literally stare at you till you walk all the way in and choose your chair. The customer service is terrible waitress and Bartenders. A lot of Parking in the area and the place is definitely cute. The food was okay and the drinks are over priced and under made. With prices like that I’m expecting a delicious cocktail.

Very clean establishment, staff is friendly, professional & very attentive to their customers. Food is wonderful and tasty. My wife and I did not get a chance to eat our meal there due to the snow that was accumulating fast and we had a 30min drive back to our Airbnb in Monticello, NY so they decided to close early so their workers can get home safely which is definitely a plus. Safety first! Would definitely come back to enjoy a meal here. Since we're from Queens, NY my wife had the Bee Soulful Seafood Rasta Pasta and I had the Baked Honey Ginger Salmon. These meals DID NOT disappoint at ALL!!!????????? This restaurant is a definite place to visit if you ever visit upstate New York for skiing, waterfalls or come to unwind from the Hustle & bustle of NYC.

Well seasoned & delicious. I enjoyed the Turkey wings. I didn't try any of the drinks but I hear they are fantastic.

This Gem of a place is not to be missed. Went here for Easter and they were doing an Easter brunch buffet, you have (had) to check them on FB to find out this restaurant special events, they're website says they're closed on Sunday but speaking with the owner she said sometimes she'll do something special on a holiday. Oh my did they really do something today ,there was not one item I could say was bad,the food and selections was FANTASTIC. My mother stated to the owner "those Grits were great, how do you cook them " the owner said " I don't know what they (referencing the chef) do back there but they are amazing. Lady hold on to your chefs because they did that thing. From breakfast creamy Grits ,cheese eggs , bacon, fried whiting (fish) mac and cheese (by the way they are not skimpy with cheese here) ,collard greens, candied yams, waffles fried chicken, barbecue chicken, seasoned rice ,pterodactyl ... I mean a whole turkey wing (tips and all), cornbread and brownies and cheesecake. I had no room for dessert. Fantastic place and location is right next to a public parking lot. Very convenient. So you have to make this a go to place. Just call first sometimes they may take time off for there own reasons. Don't sleep on this place great food and drinks.

I'd give it 3.5 stars if I could. The atmosphere is cozy but on a regular night, I'm sure it'd be borderline suffocating. I ordered Honey Garlic Wings (1st pic) which was 8 pieces for $15.50. Was kinda expensive since it came with no sides, tasted like straight honey, and had a texture as though they partially cook the chicken in a batch and just reheat it. I also ordered the Honey Siracha fries (2nd pic) which was disappointing since it was just fries with seasoning. It'd be better if they coated it with some type of spicy & sweet dip or put it on the side. My company ordered the lobster Mac & cheese (3rd pic) which was deliciouuus, but the Honey Asian wings just tasted they threw sweet chilli sauce on it. I'm not saying the wings were disgusting, just not as advertised and could've been better prepared. I'm curious about how the seafood tastes though so I may come back again. Oh, also most of the dishes come with a flower... don't eat it?.. it's just for the aesthetic

Drove from NYC for Brunch here with a friend. Service was good, cocktails were tasty, but the food was OFF DEH CHAIN!!! I had the Shrimp n Grits. She had the Southern Fried Chicken and seemed to enjoy that entree. The aforementioned Shrimp n Grits were the best I've ever had! No CAP!! NYC has some outstanding restaurants n I'm well-traveled so trust! The entree came out hot with ample well-seasoned sautéed Shrimp...but the Grits were next level! They were creamy n slightly sweet/savory all @ the same time! Does that make sense! I want MO!!! LOL!! Atmosphere was cool n the energy was all positive vibes! If I lived in the area I'd visit on a Thursday or Friday night! Will definitely revisit!! Maybe ride up there sometime this Summer! See u soon Bee Soulful!!

It was definitely a small intimate vibe. Was a little confusing at first as this was our first time here and we weren’t greeted initially. The food was good though. The henny jerk wings were on point! I would come back and recommend anyone visiting the area to check it out if you’re looking good soul food.

I catered my 44th Birthday dinner from Bee Soulful Restaurant yesterday, and my guest are still talking about the food. We had beef short ribs, fried chicken, macaroni, Collard greens, Yams, rice, potato salad, cornbread, and peach cobbler. Everything was delicious. I highly recommend Bee Soulful if you are looking for authentic Soulful food. The owner Shana and Chef Keith were very accommodating. Thank you for helping to make my special day great.

Best soulfood I've had hands down! Everything was cooked to perfection. Better than Sylvia's. We got the henny jerk wings, catfish nuggets, fried chicken, Mac and cheese, collards, and shrimp and grits. It was all super flavorful. For sure my new favorite restaurant in Orange county. Staff was on point and friendly as well. Can't wait to go back and I wish I went sooner
