Terrible experience. I understand they are closing for good in about a month so I overlooked the numerous menu items that were "sold out" in the name of history. We had a 630 reservation for 4 and we all arrived promptly. The only person that even bothered to recognize us was a hostess about 15 minutes later and simply snapped that there was a 7 top that would get seated first. We waited literally another 25 minutes and had to harass the female owner to finally get seated. We sat for about another 30 minutes with not even a glass of water and were just about to walk out when a waitess from the other room realized nobody had bothered even taking to us. She finally took our drink and food orders a little less than an hour after we were seated. I had shrimp parm with vodka sauce and my dinner companions had veal and chicken dishes. To a person the food was terrible. The pasta was very mushy and cut short like you would do for a child. The shrimp was average but the quality and type of cheese was disgusting. It seemed like a mix of cheap mozzarella and white American. The vodka sauce was quite a few steps below jar sauce also. All this after waiting until 840 to get our entrees! To add to our amusement one very nasty waitess dropped and broke dishes numerous times (they literally left the food and glass on the floor the last time) and the staff became involved in a loud argument in the kitchen with a couple saying they were quiting.None of us finished even half of our meals and didn't bother considering dessert. This place is reminiscent of every cheap bad "Italian" restaurant in the typical tourist towns. A shame considering the history here. But after this s&*# show all I can say is good riddance!

They dont know how to make shrimp parm use tiny salad shrimp & throw cheese on top was awful. Other food is way better. Staff & Cook have attitude problems.STAY AWAY from this restaurant unless u want it to go or pizza to go!

My family and I came here for dinner for the first time to celebrate my birthday! Our waitress Olivia was by far the BEST!!!!! Helped us order accordingly since we had no idea the portions as far as the appetizers and she suggested some good entrees that we all chose from and loved!! The restaurant was short staffed like everywhere else right now… but even under some pressure Olivia stayed awesome and it was SO worth it!!! We’re already planning out next visit!!

This is a tough place to review since there are some real pluses but also some negatives that are difficult to overlook. Overall I'd give them 3+ stars but can't quite get to 4 stars.First some advice... If you are going to order an appetizer, skip getting the garlic bread. It didn't have much of a garlic taste and the bread provided with your meal is far more delicious. We also had the stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer. They were fine just not to my liking but that's personal preference - you may think they are delicious. I'm not deducting any stars for what's written in this paragraph. The star deduction starts here... The guy who seated us was extremely unfriendly and came across as very annoyed that we arrived 5 minutes before our reservation. A very negative first impression. We were seated in the bar area that had an old water stain on the ceiling tile that should have been painted/replaced years ago. Speaking of which, the decor and atmosphere is straight out of the 1970's. The waiter was certainly rough around the edges and added to the negative first impressions. He came over to take our order but didn't ask if we wanted anything to drink - so we told him what we wanted. During the course of the meal he redeemed himself by splitting the entry we shared without being asked which was greatly appreciated and was very attentive. On the plus side, the chicken parmesan was quite good and certainly a very generous portion. In addition to the waiter being attentive, a woman who probably was the owner came over twice to ask how everything was and make small talk. We also had to ask for dessert and had the tartufo which was served at the right temperature and was very good. All in all not a bad place, but really not a great place either. I was expecting a bit more based on the ratings.

As a traveler on vacation with my family for Easter this was by far my worst dining experience, I was extremely disappointed and dissatisfied with my overall experience. We came to Tony Boffas expecting quality food and great customer service, the food was exceptional but our waitress Olivia was extremely rude and snippy upon first introduction and it only got worse throughout the night as problems between her and the rest of the staff became more persistent, I’d like to say I feel bad for the people she was working as she pocketed cash tips I hope they were shared equally among the rest of the staff. The rest of the staff I seen and interacted with in the dining room were extremely friendly and helpful. Between the rude waitress and the commotion in the kitchen our overall meal and time in the restaurant was unbearable and unpleasant i understand being “short staffed” and it “being crazy here” as our waitress explained but what I don’t understand is why that means take it out on the customer?, I appreciate the rest of the staff that was friendly and helpful as they tried to make what ended up being a horrible evening more tolerable and a little more enjoyable.

Celebrating 100th birthday. Everything was well coordinated. All food courses and drinks were served promptly. All the 7 entries choices were great. Thanks to Nannette and staff.

First time here. Traditional old-school Italian American cuisine. Family managed, pleasant atmosphere, generous portions, friendly & efficient staff. Definitely will be going back! ??????

I was looking forward to dining again at Tony Boffas had an amazing one of the best dinners. They were super busy but were seated immediately. Kia our server and all the other staff were attentive, friendly and accommodating. The owners and his beautiful Mom Donna making sure every thing is good and correct super nice. The food was superb delicious as always. My husband and I shared Coconut shrimp appetizer which I highly recommend. For our main I had chicken with eggplant Siciliano, Keith had Captains catch crazy good. If anyone knows me I'm a chocolate junky torn between their chocolate mousse cake or layer cake. Chose layer and couldn't leave without having a few bites. Loved every minute, we will be back. You don't have to look far Sullivan and Orange county have wonderful restaurant's. Just had the most amazing dinner here. Lasagna, pizza, potato bacon soup served with assorted fresh bread in a basket. Our waitress Olivia was amazing and attentive. We'll be back!

We came for dinner on a busy Saturday night and had the pleasure of Olivia taking care of us. From the second she sat us her energy was infectious and she had us laughing all night. She knew the menu like the back of her hand and made the best recommendations! She talked my father into getting the Zuppa and it was the best decision ever. This is by far the best Italian meal we have had in this area and we’ve been living here for over 20 years. Please do yourself a favor and come to Tony Boffa’s (and ask for Olivia)!

I had my wedding ceremony and dinner reception here. Food could of been better, the salad tasted old, the soup had no flavor. At least the Filet of Sole was good. The bad experience was when my Husband went to pay the bill for our 40 guest. The waitress/bartender Olivia did not provide my husband with an itemized bill. She added a $400 tip when it should of been 20% $300 not almost 35%. When I came to claim an itemized bill found out that the itemized had $300 tip but the credit card receipt had $400 tip. And also realized that Olivia overcharged corking btl fee to 8 btls when I brought 7. Also realized they charged me for 2 kids as adult meals. When at time of reservations I was told the kids would be 1/32 price of adult meal. Also I was not deducted the $100 deposit from my final bill. Instead Olivia pocket it. I hope that she equally shared the tip with the other waitress and waiter who actually did the running around while Olivia was at the bar also collecting cash tips from cash bar. I hope Donna the owner realizes who she can and can’t trust at her Restaurant. Very bad business. Very dissatisfied, will never recommend Tony Boffa’s to anyone.

Food was delicious, portions generous, Olivia and staff helpful and friendly. They had a large party ordering at the same time, and was told they were a bit short staffed that night. Olivia requested we be patient. Their was no delay and the service remained attentive. The vibe was fun, will definitely drive the 20 minutes to go back.

Food was delicious and the portions generous. Olivia was our waitress and she was very helpful in navigating the selections as this was our first time at this restaurant. They had a large party ordering at the same time as we were andrequested our patience. We were still served promptly and attentively. I am 20 minutes away and will certainly return as the food was delicious and the experience fun and enjoyable. Thanks Olivia!
