It's disappointing to see this place slip in quality! We waited over an hour for our meal without receiving any updates on its status, so we ended up leaving. While the staff members were friendly, they weren't particularly attentive. I know things can go wrong, but a quick update or explanation would have gone a long way. We had reservations for 6 at 7:30 Saturday night for a 50th birthday celebration. They told us there was a 20 minute wait when we arrived on time. We waited over an hour crammed in that little bar area and were told 5 different stories about how they gave our table away and would just be a few minutes, while we watched other groups coming in after us and being seated. Don Quijote Restaurant offers great food and a fun atmosphere with accommodating service. The owner is humble, and the waitress is awesome. Regulars keep coming back for over 20 years, enjoying the Mexican dishes like chimichangas served with rice and black beans, and excellent chorizos Sancho. The Paella Valenciana is piled high and more than enough for two. Very good food includes very fresh guacamole and warm chips and salsa. The bar service was good, with a free shot of tequila at the end and the option of a 1/2 pitcher of margaritas. The dining area is very nice with a good side bar and outside dining is also available. Plenty of parking available.
