It's disappointing to see this place slip in quality! We waited over an hour for our meal without receiving any updates on its status, so we ended up leaving. While the staff members were friendly, they weren't particularly attentive. I know things can go wrong, but a quick update or explanation would have gone a long way. Moving forward, providing timely communication would greatly enhance the dining experience, especially if there's going to be a significant delay in getting food out. We've been loyal customers for a long time, but after this last experience, we'll likely be seeking a new restaurant. It's unfortunate to say, but improvements will be needed if you want to attract new diners.

Knew this would be bad. Was served Tostitos jarred salsa when we first sat down.
At 27$ a plate there is no excuse.

A friend and I went there for an early dinner this past Thursday. The place was practically empty when we arrived but filled up rather quickly. Very nice dinning area with a good side bar area, outside dinning is also available

We were seated and given menus and a basket of warm chips and salsa was put on the table immediately, nice to get something to pick on while looking at the menu.

We ordered a 1/2 pitcher of margarita's which while good were not in any way remarkable though it is nice to have the option of the 1/2 pitcher.

We got an order of guacamole, which is served in a bowl made out tortilla chips. I'm not a huge fan of guac but this was very fresh and good. My friend who loves avocados and guac loved it.

We also ordered the chorizos Sancho which was excellent & highly recommended. My only 'complaint' is it's not served with enough bread for dipping in the delicious sauce.

Not a couple minutes after serving our appetizers my friends dinner entree, the chimichanga's was served. Not only was there not enough room on the table but why would they rush out her dinner, we had barely enough time to try the apps.

Not only that but they just brought her dinner not mine, which I was grateful for but still...

We had to have them take away some of the items on the table as there was literally no room.

The chimichanga's were served with rice and black beans, my friend ordered one chicken and one beef and she said both were very good.

I ordered the Paella Valenciana without mussels. It's served in a cast iron skillet and piled high, more than enough for two, maybe three people.

Now I admit we over ordered so we took home most of our dinners and about half the guac & chorizos.

The food was very good but they really need to work on the pacing of the service which took a bit away from the overall experience.

I ordered red snapper and fish was so salty I couldn't eat that. We got chicken appetizer and it was dry. Sangria is the only thing I liked

I don't even know where to begin. There was a private party in the dining room, so we sat outside. We were the only other customers. We were given dinner menus at 1:30pm and no drink menus. It took over 10 minutes to just get the appropriate menus.

When ordering, I asked if the empanadas have cilantro to which I was told "no, there is a sauce on the side". The empanadas are clearly filled with cilantro and overly salted. The chimichangas were filled with uncut steak making it almost impossible to eat. After being served, we were left with empty drinks and no one to come back around and check on us.

At least we can mark off a restaurant to never return too.

The only thing wrong w Don Quijote's of Mt. Sinai NY is the inaccurate Google rating. This is not a 4.3 restaurant. It's a 5.Not my first time there. Had the choice of eating at any restaurant in NY, literally. For me it wasn't a hard choice. Have eaten at most of the worthwhile establishments throughout NY. There are so many good ones of all shapes and form. Hands down my favorite. Service can't get better. I almost feel bad that we are treated so well. Although I liked the atmosphere better in the past its only due to the fact I prefer dim lit rooms. Atmosphere is still beautiful and very clean.Food quality as well as menu selections is a 5. I had the Ala Mexicana with pork and my wife had tonight's special which was red snapper and camarones. As per usual we were beyond happy. Also shared a half pitcher of sangria Roja. What more can I say? They don't hit doubles, just home runs. Can't recommend this restaurant enough.
