First timers at Eric’ s on Valentine’s day. I knew going out on V-day wasn’t going to be perfect, but have been wanting to try this mineola bistro. The restaurant was decorated and looked festive. We started with a lemoncello martini (a signature cocktail on menu) and a bottle of wine. The martini was awful. It tasted like triple sec and vodka. No lemon element at all. One of the servers offered to make it over and the second one was delicious. Now for the wine…….the cork broke when the server opened it. There were pieces of cork in the bottle. The waiter asked if we wanted it decanted and filtered. After a discussion, the server said he could do it with a bleached coffee filter. My husband said no thanks, because the bleached coffee filter could change the integrity of the wine. We filtered it once we got home. If you’re selling bottles of wine, they should have a way to filter the wine properly (not a V-day thing, normal restaurant operations). So, we started off with a very rocky start. Our appetizers and main meals were good. Baked clams, meatballs, lasagna and a seafood pasta dish. , They offered a dessert sampler with the price fix. We don’t eat chocolate, so they offered us cheesecake. The cheesecake was inedible. It was hard like a rock and didn’t taste fresh. I actually picked it up with my fork and could have flicked it across the room. it was laughable. To end the evening the madre-d (seemed like the manager/owner) gave me a rose as we were getting our coats on. Never engaged us in any conversation. Perhaps if he would have asked how our meal was, I wouldn’t have been upset enough to write this review and we would try this establishment again.

Stopped in with my wife for a Sunday afternoon dinner. What a treat! The service was impeccable and the meals were top shelf. We arrived at opening time and they were able to accommodate us without a reservation. I highly recommend this wonderful gem. It's worth a trip!

Food was excellent but pricey. Removed two stars for ambiance. The dining room that you get to by going to the back and then left, looked like there may have been some light construction going on. Also the music wasn't coming out of the speakers on the ceiling, it was coming from somewhere near the waiters station/kitchen so it was eerily quiet in the dining area with the only thing to hear was your conversation and others'. And the lighting could be a bit more on the warmer side rather than cooler.

Food was ok. My chicken and sausage was red inside not cooked completely. Waitress tried to rush us and the host was rude, put is next to front door.

My first time here and I don't think I will be going back, we tried the lunch prefix menu the portions where embarrassingly small so small that we had to order a third dish, the salmon they gave you with the price fix was about 1" x 2" long And they charge an extra five dollars for it, the service was OK. Our waiter was very nice but the two bus boys had really no idea what they were doing, the musssels in the white wine sauce were not great. They were swimming in butter the sauce was so thick it looked like gravy.. best part of our lunch was watching the Nassau DA get drunk in the middle of the day with her detail waiting outside, so embarrassing, tax dollars working hard for the residence of the County !

The staff was friendly and very attentive to our needs. This is a restaurant that cares about people and quality. The food was delicious as well!

Wonderful place, can't wait to go back. Don't get fooled by outside, plenty if quiet, peaceful space to enjoy your meal.

Service was so sweet and attentive but the food was awful. Baked clams tasted way past the freshness date, the chicken Marsala was OK but for some reason the pasta had this very odd after taste.
