Planet Pizza—Where Family Recipes Still Mean Something
Had to meet my family in New Jersey and ended up waiting at Planet Pizza. I count myself lucky I did.
This is a family-run restaurant that serves up a menu chalked with delicious options. I got the Philly cheesesteak, Minestrone, and Pasta Fagioli soups, and man…they were all fantastic.
The Philly cheesesteak was exactly what you want it to be: tender meat, melted cheese, perfectly griddled onions, and a roll that actually held up under the weight of everything. No frills, just executed right. The soups, though—that’s where this place really showed its hand. Both the Minestrone and Pasta Fagioli had that unmistakable quality of recipes passed down through generations. The kind of depth and balance you only get when someone’s grandmother taught them how to layer flavors over hours, not minutes.
This isn’t food that can be mass-produced or replicated by a corporate test kitchen. This is the real deal: ingredients treated with care, dishes made the way they’re supposed to be made, and flavors that taste like they’ve been refined over decades.
If you find yourself anywhere near Monroe, Planet Pizza is worth the detour. Family-run restaurants like this are getting harder to find, and when you stumble onto one this good, you don’t take it for granted.

If you'd like a simple no frills classic pizza that is reliable go here. The slice is huge and 3.75, men at the register are attentive, friendly, and fast. I order one slice warmed up. Took a bite in the car and it was tasty. My bf also took a bite and confirmed 👌 good spot. The atmosphere was quiet and they have a bathroom. The bathroom was typical pizzeria bathroom. Go here it's good 👍

The BEST pizza place! I stopped by on my way to Connecticut from North Carolina. It was so good that I took a 2 hour detour to stop here again on the way back home. The crust is perfectly baked. They offer a wide variety of toppings, and it’s evident the staff take pride in their craft. From the location, you can walk around the pond or choose to take the food to go. Highly recommend!

I recently had an issue with an online order due to a scheduling mix-up, but I’m so impressed with how Planet Pizza handled it. The owner personally called me to explain the situation and offered to make my order right away. That kind of customer service is rare these days, and it really stood out to me.
Not only is their food always delicious, but they truly care about their customers and go above and beyond to make things right. I’m very happy with how this was resolved and will definitely continue to be a loyal customer. Highly recommend!

OMG THIS WAS THE 1ST AND LAST TIME!!! so this place has mediocre pizza, squares, garlic knots and the sauce they provided for the garlic knots taste like something out of a can. No flavor at all!!!! you can tell it wasn't fresh, nor did they even try to season the sauce to give it any flavor. The server was rude, I asked for a fresh slice, because what was there looked like it was sitting in the display all day.. and his comment was why im asking for fresh slices...like what???? Because im spending my money in your establishment and I dont want what looks like it's been sitting all day...but yeah, this was my 1st and last time going here...I give this place 2 👎 down

I do like the pizza here but the one Mexican guy who has been there for years serving customers is not very nice or personable. Needs to take a class on customer service.
