Yossie's Cafe is the Makom of KJ. From the moment you walk in to a nice, orderly Cafe, you will smile. The staff are inviting and caring, inquiring how your dish was.

The menu is almost as big as your stomach will be, after guzzling a pie of pizza, fish, pasta, and all of the other delicious menu options.

(I would like to let everyone know that Baked Ziti hit the spot.)

The atmosphere is a five. Our food was ready in less than 5 minutes. Everything was amazing.

It was very good. the place is clean,great atmosphere reasonable priced .the food was hot, tasty and received it quickly. but most of all our waitress Jessica was nice and freindly, We didnt get the other lady's name but she was very friendly and they treated us like family. “Our first time visiting Monarca and it was excellent. I chose the cammarones (shrimp with mushrooms and tequila) with the charro. (The charro!!! ?) So good! We ordered the queso which was spicy and very tasty. Margaritas were so good. We all left stuffed and satisfied. The staff was very friendly and pleasant. I loved the decor, the seating and ambiance. I'm surprized to see some of the comments here. People do have to realize a new business doesn't just open and run like clockwork. It takes time for staff to gel and get a system down. Its unrealistic to not expect that a brand new establishment needs time to work out kinks. That's why Im glad we waited to visit until now because we were very pleased and will be back!! “After a long day of shopping and hiking, we were torn between Peruvian and Puerto Rican food. We came across Taino Kitchen, saw the 4.1-star rating on Google, and decided to give it a try & and we are so glad we did.

From the moment we walked in, Allan, the owner, made us feel welcome. He was cleaning tables when we arrived, immediately told us to sit wherever we liked, and was incredibly kind and attentive throughout our meal. Once he realized we wanted to try a little bit of everything and share, he helped us put together a fun mix of dishes.

And we definitely tried a little bit of everything! We ordered the alcapurria, carne guisada, arroz con gandules, habichuelas, yuca, tostones, maduros, and churrasco with chimichurri and garlic sauce. Allan also generously brought us chicken cheese and beef cheese empanadas to try.

Everything was delicious. Sometimes Caribbean Latin food can lean a little salty, but the seasoning here was incredibly well balanced. The beef was cooked perfectly, the carne guisada was flavorful, and the tostones were crisp without being overly oily. Even with such a large variety of food on the table, each dish stood on its own.

They also make their juices in house, with passion fruit, tamarind, and lemonade available; all generously offered to us by Allan. I chose the tamarind, and it was excellent, refreshing and full of flavor, without being overly sweet.

And just when we thought we were finished, Allan ended our meal with a perfect tres leches.

What made the experience even more special was learning just how much of a family operation Taino Kitchen really is; right down to the dinnerware. Allan told us that the plates were made by his niece, while his sons and nephews help cook in the kitchen, and Allan seems to fill in just about every other gap needed to keep the restaurant running.

You can feel the family behind this place. It wasn't just a great meal; it felt like being welcomed into someone's home and being encouraged to try everything they were proud of making.

If you're in the Monroe area and looking for authentic Puerto Rican food served with genuine hospitality, Taino Kitchen is absolutely worth a visit. We came in simply looking for dinner after a long day and left very happy that we chose this place.”

“Bagel Boys of Monroe Review 🥯

While in town, we visited Bagel Boys of Monroe several times, and we really enjoyed their breakfast sandwiches. This is a small, cozy breakfast spot with limited seating, but the staff is friendly and helpful. They can get pretty busy, and they work quickly to take orders and keep the line moving.

The first time, I ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese on a bagel. Unfortunately, the sandwich wasn't cooked the way I requested, but once I brought it to their attention, they corrected it without an issue.

The second time, I tried the ham, egg, and cheese, and it was cooked perfectly. It was delicious! The ham was a little thick for my preference, but it was still very good.

My husband ordered the bacon, egg, and cheese with home fries inside, and he absolutely loved it. He rarely enjoys breakfast sandwiches that much—he ended up having two and came back for more the next day!

One helpful tip if you're placing a large order: make sure to clearly separate and label the individual orders. They tend to put everything together in one bag, which can make it a little difficult to tell whose sandwich is whose.

Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely recommend Bagel Boys of Monroe. We’ll be stopping by again the next time we're back in town! 🥯❤”
