Update due to new location!! Menu literally better.. We had Risotto balls (pause), Crabcakes and Short Ribs for dinner. It was amazing flavors upon flavors.
New location is on the heart of Monroe and walking distance.

Outstanding service and ambiance. Cocktails were excellent. Food was a mixed bag. Shrimp taps were overcooked but the restaurant took it back immediately. The crab cake tapas were delicious. The lamb entree was good. The Valrhona chocolate lava cake was excellent too.

Last night we went to Somni after visiting Lego Land for my son’s birthday. We picked it on whim honestly zero expectations and we were floored by how amazing everything was. They accommodate a party of 8 with no reservations. We did multiple tapas to start duck cigars and Empanadas Were my favorite. Dinner brazed short rib off the charts the burger next level juicy kids steaks tender and The chimichurri sauce to die for.We live 2 hours away on longisland but if i’m ever in the area 1000% going back i recommend everyone try it.

I think this restaurant is a rave! From beginning to end, the dinner was beautifully presented, professionally and graciously served! The tapas weren't the usual fare. Rather, they were creatively composed, and I had difficulty choosing which to eat. We shared 9 dishes, each delicious in its own way. We started with a fruit amuse made with watermelon, tomatoes, citrus dressing, and a sprinkle of greens. I could have had a salad of that. I am going to give names of dishes but it would be better if you read their menu. We ate Shrimp Ceviche, Beet Salad, Steamed Buns with Short Ribs Shredded and Sauteed, Cigar Sticks filled with Duck Confit, Lobster Paper Rice Rolls (perfect), Tuna Taco, Poached Pear and Creme Brulee. The Chef sent us a piece of bread pudding with real whip cream as a treat at the end. The ambiance is eclectic, sound level moderate, and the staff excellent in every way. This wonderful restaurant is the creation of two brothers, and they are the manager and chef! There is a large open kitchen to admire and observe the preparations. I highly recommend this restaurant! I wish I lived here just to eat there and try everything on the menu!

This was our second time dining at Somni NY Tapas, and the experience was just as amazing as the first! On our first visit, I had the ribeye—perfectly cooked, tender, and packed with flavor. This time, I went with the porterhouse, and it was equally impressive—juicy, well-seasoned, and beautifully presented.
The atmosphere here is always on point: stylish, warm, and inviting. Whether you’re coming for a romantic evening or a night out with friends, the ambiance sets the tone for a great experience.
A big thank you to Catherine, our server, who took excellent care of us both times. She’s friendly, knowledgeable, and makes fantastic recommendations—truly one of the highlights of our visits.

Ordered take out for the first time from this restaurant. Was absolutely dissatisfied with the food we received. We ordered three short rib rigatoni dishes which contained no beef short rib in the dishes. The containers were a 1/4 filled as if the person who prepared the dishes made one then divided it up. One plate had a hair in it to make it even a more disgusting experience. Over cooked pasta and watery sauce. 28 dollars a plate for careless slop. I called the restaurant immediately to let them know about their plates. Would never recommend this establishment.

Probably the best meal I have had in Monroe! My boyfriend and I split a few different appetizers and entrees together as well as the red sangria, and each dish was absolutely amazing. The staff clearly care about quality and flavor, and creating a wonderful dining experience. I already can’t wait to come back!

I cannot rave enough about this restaurant. Everything about them was AMAZING. The decor, service, food, just EVERYTHING was outstanding. We basically ordered all the Tapas from their menu and not ONE did disappoint. I also got the ceviche which was good, just wasn’t a fan of the sour aftertaste but that’s probably just me. I cannot rave enough about their duck cigars, it’s my favorite tapas ✨
Also, we came for brunch, and their mimosas and Dulce de Leche French Toast is OUT of this world. It’s delicious! They also accommodated and made scrambled eggs for my baby and even though it’s not on the menu ! They’re the best.
Please please come here if you have the chance, I wish I knew about this place sooner, it will exceed your expectations 🫶🏽
