Awesome lobster rolls,!!!
Didn’t eat here so can’t speak to the food but the service was really not to par. Called to ask if they were open and the woman on the phone said “yes, I picked up didn’t I.” Think it was a valid question as no one in the parking lot. So we walked up to the front and then decided we were going to go back to the car since it was just a stop and go place. The lady comes out and asks us what’s wrong. Says “is it because you don’t have enough cash.” Goes on to say we wouldn’t survive out here without cash and will get stranded which doesn’t make sense. Overall not pleasant workers although I heard good stuff from TikTok!
I am usually partial to the hot lobster roll, however, if you’re going to get a cold lobster roll, this is probably one of the best I’ve ever had (gig shack is a contender-on a croissant with homemade chips) but this Bennet shellfish lobster roll was so fresh and tasty that it may have actually won me over. Light touch of mayo, lots of lobster meat, minimal crisp celery and perhaps green onion? Very subtle flavors but super fresh. The potato bun and cape cod chips make it the perfect lunch bite. Will definitely be back! extra points for carrying @mybunnybaked goods!
Came here because @calebthill recommended it and absolutely loved it! The beautiful lady in the front was lovely and very welcoming! Definitely recommend

Stopped for lobster rolls on our midweek getaway. The food was absolutely delicious! Great price, big chunks of lobster meat and the service was terrific. Definitely a must stop for anyone in the area!!!
I haven’t been to Montauk since pre-Covid, the place I used to go to for lobster rolls close unfortunately do the pandemic but I finally made the trip up today and let me just say I was not disappointed. I’m so glad that I listened to the reviews of this Locally owned small shop and had the best lobster roll ever. It cost $19 and it comes with a sided chips drink for an additional charge. The owner was wonderful to talk to and now we’ll be returning to the spot whenever I’m in the area. Thank you for the wonderful experience!
We absolutely love Bennett’s Seafood. It’s one of our must-stop places whenever we’re in town — everything is always fresh and delicious. We have never had any issues, until this last visit.
During our most recent trip, we stopped by twice in one week because we enjoy it that much. On our second visit, we purchased a clam pie and some fresh-caught Black Sea bass. The woman behind the counter emphasized that the fish was fresh and should be eaten that day, which we appreciated since we’re staying in a hotel with a kitchen. She was also very clear about how to cook the clam pie, which was helpful.
However, she said absolutely nothing about the fish having bones — and when it came time to cook and eat it, we were horrified to find it full of small, sharp bones. It was inedible. We had to pick through each bite with our hands just to make sure we weren’t going to swallow something dangerous. In the end, we ended up throwing the fish away, which was disappointing and wasteful.
I assumed, like with most fresh seafood markets, the fillets would be cleaned and deboned — or at the very least, we’d be given a heads-up. A simple “Just a heads-up, there may still be bones in there, we try or best” or a “we don’t debone any filets here, take that into consideration when making your choice” would have gone a long way. It felt like a safety issue more than anything.
Considering how heavy tourism is here, and many tourists don’t have access to a full kitchen of tools, it seems like something Bennetts should tell customers.
We still love this place and will probably return, but next time we’ll be asking more questions — and we hope the staff considers being more proactive in letting customers know when fish may still contain bones.
Absolutely excellent gem in Montauk! Locally owned and sourced sea food caught daily by family that has been doing it right for generations. Open year round . They also have homemade famous clam pies, smoked fish dip, lobster rolls and more. I recommend stopping by ! A++

Bennett Shellfish is truly a hidden gem in the local area! The owner Kim is incredibly friendly and genuine, making you feel right at home. The oysters here are hands down the best I've ever had—so fresh and bursting with the flavor of the sea. The warm service provided by the kim makes the whole experience even more delightful. Highly recommended for all seafood lovers! 🦪💯
Bennett Shellfish is truly a local treasure store! Kim, the proprietress, is so nice. Not only is she kind and friendly, but she always makes people feel at home. The oysters here are truly the best I have ever tasted. You can feel the freshness and the taste of the sea in every bite. Kim's warm service made the whole experience even more perfect. Highly recommended to all friends who love seafood! 🦪💯
Family owned seafood store operating out of their own home. Prices are very fair. Given its location in the now super expensive Montauk, New York area. Always fresh, always good. Try the two for one lobster roll. It’s the best deal on the East End.
Kimberley was extremely kind and hospitable. Lobster rolls and tuna were fresh and delicious. A must stop when in mtk!
No fish visible, limited choices. I was being helped, someone else walked in and I was then completely ignored. Very disappointing place. Plenty of others to choose so pass this one up.
Cute lil place prices were good too
