This used to be my favorite place for brunch (with a great selection of omelettes, pancakes, etc) but ever since the place changed owners (in '23 or '24) I can no longer relate to the food or the atmosphere.

Bird on a Roof is a must visit when in Montauk! The atmosphere perfectly captures that easygoing, coastal charm, with a relaxed vibe that makes you feel right at home. It's the kind of place where you can truly unwind before or after a day at the beach. The brunch was amazing, so fresh and delicious! Our waiter was very sweet and attentive. Highly recommend!

Montauk is a strange place; it is as if Salisbury Beach and Martha’s Vineyard had a one night stand but def got preggers. It is class and disregard for class at once; like eating caviar at a dive bar, or getting laid at a rest stop. Bird on the roof is a wonderful paradigm of this queer dichotomy; it is tattoos and tapas; grunge and galettes; mom jeans and marmalade.
The food and service here was so good that I decided to write my first online review. This place is such a gem. The service is friendly, insightful, and interesting. The food deserves a Michelin star. we had the Oyster special, Baby Kale & Frisée Caesar Salad, and Israeli Cous Cous & Scallops. Each dish knocked our socks off. We came back the following day just to make sure these flavors weren’t just a one time thing - they weren’t. This may be my favorite restaurant of all time. Thank you for taking the time or read this review.

We dined at Bird on the Roof on Saturday night and experienced an unfortunate mishap during service. While it didn’t feel fully addressed that evening, the owner went above and beyond once he was made aware. The level of customer care is truly worth noting and much appreciated. On top of that, the crab & corn soup is out of this world — absolutely not to be missed!

We went there three times during 3-day stay in Montauk. Egg omelette sourdough toast with burrata was amazing, I’ve ordered it twice. Cous cous & scallops for dinner were delicious.

The best food we had in Montauk, we went back two nights in a row with friends. The dishes are very elaborate, with unique blends and flavours that come out divine. I was not expecting this type of cuisine in Montauk. Every single dish we tried was delicious. Service is friendly and the atmosphere is cozy and homey. Absolutely must try.

Bird on the Roof is such a gem! My family and I stopped in for breakfast and ordered the pancakes, and they were absolute perfection, fruit, and avocado toast. The pancakes were some of the best I’ve ever had fluffy, golden, and just the right balance of sweet. The vibe here is cozy yet elevated, with a relaxed Montauk charm that makes you feel very welcomed. Everything came out quickly despite the place being busy. Easily one of the best breakfasts I’ve had out east

The food was okay, nothing too special, but the service was amazing and the staff were really friendly. The atmosphere was clean and very nice, which made it a pleasant spot overall. Just a heads-up, if you’re looking for a cool place to eat during the hot summer, this might not be the best choice since it gets super hot inside.
